  1. Question for all.  If been out with mixed results, fished shallow and out to 100.  Marking fish, no takers.  Ran sticks, spoons you name it.  Anyone running flashers, flies, etc.

Any suggestions.  Been running between 1.9 to 3.0.  Boards etc.

  2. I'm a walleye guy as well, I fish in many lakes. But walleye were never in the lake, intended for the lake and people decided to take matters into there own hands with little knowledge of the outcome.    Do I really care if walleye are there?  Nope.  Do I wish to catch them in the lake, don't care.  Hope they all die , shouldn't be in it.  If the fishery changes, and undue fishing pressure hits it in full walleye fashion. I.e. Oneida lake stile. The next thing will be gobie,  mooneye, smelt,  northern pike .  God bless.  No offense taken.

  3. A friend went.  The eradication of walleye is a big topic.  The state is not happy with the personal stocking plan of individuals that understand nothing of the destructive nature of walleye vs  rainbow , landlocked salmon.

The rules for an open season can't be changed this year.  Open season ie no limit walleye removal.  Walleye virtually desimated Owasco.  Another brilliant plan. Anyway.  If walleye are desired, trout stocking will stop. Why feed an invasive species to a finger lake that never supported them.  The other option, netting and removal.

My opinion,  and we all know " everyone has one".  To those responsible, thanks for f%#king up a great fishery .  I sincerely hope your caught, fined,  for millions.  Without question one of the dumbest, stupid moves by a bunch of non sportsmen ever contrived .  I'm ready for moronic comebacks.  You simply can not make any logical statements for it.

  4. I'm wondering if the guys that fish the finger lakes all winter , do you plug your bilge and bait well lines from outside.  I fear water getting left in pipes, pumps and splitting hoses under the deck.

  5. I too have a 16 foot Lund Fury.  setup riggers, garmin bells whistles.  I frequently fish Oswego, Mexico areas. I always watch the weather as some one said earlier, things happen fast on the lake. I wear an inflatable vest while i'm out no mater how hot.. I real don't stand up much as I don't have to. Safety first. last few days I've stayed home due to waves. 2 miles off shore in 2 footers is no fun and that 3 or 4 footer can wreck your day. Be safe, your life is in your hands. Plus rescue personal as well.

I have had some great days this spring catching Kings, browns etc.  Hope all have a great summer. Stay keel down , fish hard.

  6. Now I'm picking up a 9 in. Garmin. I have a Lowrance and hummingbird now. My Lowrance is on the dash. The bird is mounted on the left side across from my seat. I use one for map one for fish. Garmin replacing one. Not sure which. I've had mine out on Ontario. In rough. But use common sense. I came in as it was building. My Fury is very stable. I'm very happy. We fish all over. Ontario, oneida, finger lakes. Lake placid, you name it. We drag lures. Good luck. Enjoy it. Which ever you chose.
