Some of you are fishing deep water for salmon, 200 plus. I know the temp your looking for is 44 plus. What is the average depth your setting up at on your riggers? What seems to be the average depth your find the right temp. It varies I know but looking to see where most set there deepest down rigger. Seeing fish on the finder helps but if the screen was blank.

I have searched for a more comfortable life jacket for the kids. Some days it's so hot and they are so uncomfortable. But it's a must they have them on. Better to carry a case of water , juices for them to drink. I also put a portable toilet on the boat for them.

No, no they don't. It's dangerous.

Methods of
Taking Fish
Angling
Angling means taking fish by hook and line. This
includes bait and fly fishing, casting, trolling and
the use of landing nets to complete the catch.
• Anglers must be in immediate attendance
when their lines are in the water.
• An angler may operate no more than three
lines with or without a rod.
» each line is limited to not more than five
lures or baits or a combination of both.
» in addition, each line shall not exceed 15
hook points in any combination of single,
double or treble hooks.
• Snatching, lifting, hooking and use of tip-ups

15 points. Total. Rod's I think 3 per person. But look it up for sure.

A bad day fishing is better than work anyday.

Not for a very long time. All work has stopped.

I ordered a Fish Hawk TD today. Next spring or if I hit the lottery I get a Fish Hawk 4. Just short cash so I went short.

If I buy a auto pilot it will be costly as I have a steering wheel.

I do watch the cables now. With the high water this year current is a problem, a mystery or asset . A week ago on Cayuga trolling north the cable hung dead straght down, going south. Going north my speed was almost 4 to 5 to spin a spoon. 2 going south. To those who pay little attention to detail, it would have been a fish less day. I had a great evening with landlocked and browns. The more I receive info the more I'm convinced I need to pick one up.

Good advice, those very small cable kinks are death to weights and tackle. I've been very lucky , over the years to only have lost 2 weights. Both preventable. Funny. I have extra transducers. Thanks for the input.

I'm 65, it's a 16ft. Easy in easy out. Most times I'm alone. Never fish rough or stormy days. Lately with the storms I've been on the beach.

Outstanding information, thanks so much. I'd fish more if I caught more. Don't have a huge boat but on good days it will get me where I need to be. Now I have to ponder the purchase.

Before I layout the cash for one how many of you use fish hawks and how have they increased your catch? I only fish lake Ontario 5 to 8 times a year. Mostly the fingerlakes. All input will be helpful. Thanks.

I used the etching rustoleum as a base. Then standard gloss. Worked great.

Boy they suck. Just think how many there are! That many on a line that's .030 thick. Trillions.

Jigging isn't a problem. Your not dragging line for long distance. Are there flees on Kayuka?

They will cling to anything they can. Look up the Spiny waterflee. They look like jelly on your line in long 2 to 12 inch globs and they stick seriously smell.
I wash my bait well with clorox and water. 20 % mix. I fill the tank and leave it 30 minutes. I'm sure that length of time will kill them.
Then the day after I fish I take the boat to the car wash. Blast it with soap, hot water. Rinse.
The jenie is out of the bottle for most lakes they are all over but I try to do my part to kill them and other weeds and such.

With a long pier to help with rough days. Again, more perch fishing.

Lol. I use 220 volts lol.
No I use extention cords for the down rigger hook ups. I line fuse, just plug in.

I was a nasty storm. Heavy down pour. I just made it in and out off the water. No wind makes for a very tough bite. Flees really suck. Good luck next trip.

Thanks. What's the deepest you have ever run a rigger? I've had them at 120.
