  1. I fished long point south from 4 to dark+. 50 down is 50°water. I ran 10lb fluro, 80 ft back small spoons and Rapala sticks. 5 landlocks. 15 in to 21. Many small ones 9" to 15". No browns.
2 Lakers way up in 60 ft. Keepers but I let everything go. If I marked bait, I caught fish. Most were out in 150 200 ft. Fleas were zip. A few but going away. I ran 1.6 to 2.2 speed. I think if I went south farther I would have seen more. Ran out of day light.

  2. Went yesterday for Bust #4. Oswego from 1 to 730. Started in 180. Nothing so I headed in to the combat trolling area. In 120, marked fid constantly. Ran the book again FF, meat spoons. Ran 1.7 to 2.8 zig zagged. For a 20 min time I did 3.2 . I fished the marks. Ran over them 3 or 4 times. Find more repeat.
I actually caught a 9 inch laker. Poor little thing. Hit a spoon have its size. Lively little guy.

  3. Thanks for the picture and advice. I'll hit the lake tomorrow. It's frustrating for sure. I run a ff all the time I'm fishing. I change them up and have run green , green glow , all types. White, green crome, dream weavers, all type dodgers, 3 inch to huge.
I've gear some people use black carbon type spoons with some luck. But I've never seen one or know who makes them.
I circled a bunch of marks near bait last evening for 3 hours. Then went deeper but no marks. So I came back to the same point and circled for another hour and a half. Zip. Tomorrow should another day.

  4. So I've been to Oswego 3 times in 8 days. Threw the entire box at them 5 times in 12 days.

Ff, spoons etc. Ran from 1.8 to 3.0 . Fished 110 to 135 in 250 ft of water to 350. Marked fish, marked bait. Watched people catch fish. I have a fish hawk td. Used it 4 to 6 times a day to be in the right water.

In 5 total outings 1 ea 5 lb stealhead. I suck.

  5. I love lake trot fishing. I've been hooked on them from age 12, now 65. I like browns landlocked rainbows etc. But Lakers are fun. Got my 2 grand daughters into it. 5 and 7. I put them on Lakers and they reel them in all day till they drop. I wear the out. The smiles on kids faces when a big 8 or 9 lber. hits the deck is money well spent and memories never to forget. They are work. But fun.
