  1. I use slide divers with braid for salmon. 60 lb. braid with 50 feet of 50 lb floro with a rubber bead stopper and big snap to my flasher. Then my meat rig.

Light bite work great for walleye but would not hold a flasher and meat rig. I’d recommend 2 of each. Light bite for walleye and regular slider for salmon.
Ps. I run rings for salmon.

  3. I have a scorpion 165 it shoots 425 FPS. I shoot it to 70 yards. I’ve been an avid archery shooter and hunter for 39 years. I went to the crossbow 3 years ago when I could no longer shoot my bow every day because of shoulder pain. It’s not the same. I no longer have the drive or adrenaline rush while archery hunting. Compound bows are more challenging and give you a much better feeling of confidence and accomplishment. JMO.

  4. Ok , I am getting ready to pull the trigger on some 24 inch mounting track. I intend to use it for Down East Salty rod holders for musky fishing. I would also use dipseys when fishing for lake trout. I will be bolting the track to my Lund's gunnel.
My question is there a marine tackle supply house in either Canada or United States that people recommend with reasonable pricing? ( I can't believe the difference in pricing that I have found so far!  Don't these companies ever have sales?)  And is there a manufacturer or brand that one could recommend?
    Thanks Jim
    Stay safe everyone,

I usually find the best deals at fishing shows or sportsmens expos.

  5. I always seem to catch fish out of the Oak. I’ve done well out of Wilson also. But I’ve always caught bigger fish out of the Oak. This time of year fish the marks, temperature is not as important as it is in the spring. We caught several out of temperature 2 weeks ago out of the Oak. The biggest was 25 lbs. meat and paddle on 300 copper was the big fish rod then.
