What size motor are you trolling with? What size bags? What speed are you trying to hit? What does your boat weigh fully loaded?

I crimp all my wire connections. I’ve been told that it’s a waste of time that an overhand knot is all you need. But I have the crimper and it looks so much neater so I’ll continue to crimp my wire connections. JMO.

I’ve never had any issues with pop ups. But I’ve always been a pro member. I don’t mind paying for a great service.

Your sucking fuel from your main motor. Put a check valve in your main motor line so the kicker has to pull from the tank. Without a check valve your kicker is going to suck gas from the least resistance line. A check valve will only let fluid through in one direction. This should fix your problem. Good luck and tight lines.

Just got done reading it. I’ve been trolling for years and I cannot believe how much I’ve learned. Well worth the money.

When trolling for browns is it preferable to use inline boards as opposed to big double boards?
I only use inline boards for browns. When salmon fishing I use big boards. The reasons are :
I can adjust where their running easer with inline boards. I’m usually fishing pretty short water when fishing for browns. I’m pulling a lot less weight when fishing for browns.

If this is a 5 hook minnow it could be worth 10,000.00 $
I should have asked if you would consider selling it. It was made Ohio in 1900.

Does it have 2 lead weights in the bottom? They should be visible ( unpainted)

i hooked mine both to the water separator with a quick disconnect and a check valve on the kicker side. mine is an inboard main motor. no issues.

I don’t use any snubbers. It depends on the user. I think I get more hookups without them.

If you put some mono leader on your wire and copper rods it makes them break down nice for storage. I use 50# leader on my wires for my dipsys and 20# on my copper. I use a spro swivel in between.

not if they have a diving lip, I want my bait from 3 to 6 feet below the surface in 10 to 15 feet of water.
