  1. Sunday trolling north on the west side at 1.5 mph on top was 3.0 at the ball down 45.  Fish hawk is necessary.  Save up for one.  Its worth it.  I'm not even fishing using my sonar.  I'm locking everything between 59 and 55 degrees.  2.3 to 2.7 at the ball.  Cant miss.

    I don't disagree might be sooner rather than later other issue is lack of a down rigger to run it on I do have small crank one I can jury rig on to run it though

  2. Trolled this morning from 6 until 10 not a bite.. but new to trolling. Ran 5 rigs four dipsys and a copper up chute Tried 70 to 120 fow running dipsys down 40-60 running 50 lb braid to dipsy followed by a flasher snubber and fly, or a three or four inch spoon with no flasher on a 12 lb fluorocarbon line... flies and spoons variety of chartreuse green blue and purples gps speed of 2.7 to 3. Also tried shallow running 35-40 on lures in 50fow

     

    Location started at south end trolled past Boy Scout camp to near power plant crossed lake came back down a few miles trying shallow till surrendering the morning...

I so far like this one unfortunately it was left open and decomposing for 10 years... it has been a long haul back ... but she is an 8000 pound boat and I have her topping at 35 mph now and can handle anything Lake can dish out... planning to canal it to Ontario in late August for kings anyone know how long a process that is from Cayuga ?

  4. New to the trolling and a lake this big just finished restoring this boat so I'm looking to start a new adventure been a bass fisherman and did charters in Ontario for years so this is first time running my own rigs

Ok guys boat is now slipped at treeman in Ithaca running a 29 foot pursuit I am set with four bait casters with counters and dipsys I am set with spoons flashers and flies of the colors often listed here. Also have some 4 inch minnow power baits for jigging and might even grab some sawbellies for live bait action later in day... staying on boat for this weekend and looking for advice on where to start on south end of lake planning on heading out before first light.... thinking of getting to open water 80 ft or so and setting dds down between 55-70 and start trolling for bait balls any pointers from those familiar w lake ...? Or better yet anyone want to join? Lol first time running the rigs myself I'm equipped w live well and lowrance hd7 for electronics

  6. Hi all... new to board and new to area... live in pa but just slipping our boat a pursuit 2860 in Cayuga for rest of season at Alan treeman. I've done a bunch of charters for salmon in Ontario over years and I'm an avid bass fisherman. Planning to expand into trolling adding down riggers etc to boat. I will be contributing for now all advice on lake what to fish for when and how greatly welcomed... anyone that wants to come out and teach ... greatly welcomed !!
