  1. Sunday we took the whole family out for our first family trip on the boat. I have a 2yr old daughter and a 4yr old son. We launched out of Olcott and headed out to 90fow. I had just finished setting 2 dipsys and 2 riggers, turned on the GoPro and one of the riggers popped with a king bite. I quickly reeled in the slack and got tight on what felt like a really good fish, got my son cranking and as fast as we had the fish he was gone. Within 10 minutes of that, my wife turned green. There was no way I was going to make her suffer on mother's Day so we headed back in. Today, im taking my son. Just us. I know how it must feel on tournament day because I NEED to get him a fish. Yes, we will have fun and today will be a memorable day either way, but as a dad I just want to get my boy cranking on a king !! I've been walking through the steps of how the heck I'll hand line and net a fish solo. Never tried it and don't want to mess it up ! I'm going to do straight spoon program and run 6' leaders off dipsys. We will be launching out of Wilson ( also something I've never done solo) and heading out to the hill. I was told I should run to the hill and troll back but I think I'm going to troll there and run back. So I'm over thinking everything .... Everything ! Please reassure me we will be into em quick, and also wish us luck. Really hope to post some pics tonight !!! Any kid tips appreciated: already have a pile of snacks, his tablet, and a rod holder set low to drop the rod in so he can just crank . Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Been picking away, slowly but surely on my little things. Mounted a "kids station" on the back gunnel. Reinforced the bow for the electric. Installed LED nav lights- at first I was going to mount them facing out but after playing around I decided since they fit so nice up under a lip around the bow and looked pretty cool shining down on the boat that's where they will go. They will prob be visible till plane but cruising and trolling they will basically light up the whole front of the boat. Installed a trim piece wrapped with vinyl on the bow. Tomorrow is my my first father son trip. Hoping to get my boy on his first king. Fingers crossed that I don't hack the net job !!! Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  4. Thanks for the tip ! I was researching non drowsy but effective methods. The boat isn't gonna be a family boat if the family can't be on the boat !! Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  6. I took the fam out today (first time we all went together) wife got sick, we fished for 27 min and took a shot on the rigger, lost it. Was supposed to be my son's first king, but we pulled off cause momma was sick ( on mother's Day). So be thankful for not getting skunked. My son would have flipped for a brown half the size of yours !! Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I'm actually surprised nobody has shown interest. Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
