  1. Also with big boards run your deepest running line on inside toward boat and lighter as they get closer to the board. I run inline weights and leadcore like that and you can decide to change a lure, snap it from tow line and let it pull back. I have prince MasterCraft superski boards and they are incredible. Sometimes I run a dipsey on the very inside

I've been running a set of homemade big boards for a long time, and would absolutely never switch back to inline boards. I have a 19' sylvan navigator, 4' mast on the bow, and currently use dacron line. I'm going to replace it with spectra soon though. I usually use 3 rods per side. The order that you set these up in is very important. The first rod out on each side will be your longest lines and shallower diving. I start them around 220' back. The next will be 15' shorter, so 205 back, then 190, etc. The longest line goes in the front rod holder. I spool the whole reel in mono, no braid at all, for dedicated board rods. Clip the mono directly into an Offshore release, and send it down the line until it's a couple feet from the board. Deploy the next line from the back of the boat, go UNDER the first rod, clip it on to the tow line, go back under the first rod, and put it in the 2nd rod holder. Let it out a little over halfway down the line. Repeat this for the 3rd rod. When you hook a fish, it'll either pop the line out of the release by itself, or you'll have to do it. Either way, pick the rod straight up, keep tension on it, and let that fish swing back to the center. Once it clears the inside line, then you can start reeling. The 15' spacing, plus the distance between the releases, combined with the deeper divers being on the inside gives you plenty of room to get the fish centered up. I start them at 220' back so if you get a fish on the outside rod, the other two simply get slid down closer to the board, then you set the one that just got a fish as your inside rod 15' shorter than the last. Once you get to where you're setting them under 100' back, reel that side in and restart around 220.

  2. Do you know if a transom mount transducer is available and if the unit will run the Evo series autopilot

Had this unit for 2 seasons on my boat. Works as designed. No longer run raymarine (switched to garmin with panoptix). Transducer is brand new and unit is in great condition. Power cord and mount included. 950 obo. 3. I must be the only one who is not satisfied with the cutco knife. Biggest disappointment ever. Haven't sent it back but going to. Must be a Monday or Friday knife. Drove by the place in Olean not too long ago. A business in a building that impressive should know what they are doing. I have friends who have cutco kitchen knives and love them. Guess I best get moving and send it in

I have a Randall fillet knife I have had for 30 years plus. Holds an edge better than any knife I have owned. Cuts right through the ribs no problem.

  4. I have a small trolling plate that may work for you

I may just re prop, but been doing a lot of walleye trips and the 15hp has been a bit much to dial it down to under 2, especially if I'm trolling with the wind.

I'm not looking to sell it, unless I found one I'm interested in.

It's a 1999 Honda 4 stroke, long shaft, electric start, BAAL. Runs like a top and starts easy. Prop/lower/etc all in great shape. There is no tiller handle but I do have a separate control box with cables ( I just have it hooked to troll master ).

I'm looking for a 9.9 or 8hp similar in age, no older. Potentially I can come up with a few bucks if it's newer but I 100% want to stick with a Honda. Don't care about elec start. Has to be long shaft. Let me know if there's any interest out there.

  5. Sorry that you are having to deal with this.  Sounds like a real short-sighted dirt bag.  I would post this on every forum, Facebook, etc.  As noted above, you would save a lot of people the agony of having to deal with this guy and cut off his business at the same time.
I had to buy an engine three years ago and drove from Buffalo NY to Boston ma Father and son business explained everything and had paperwork to upgrade my old ignition system to the new high energy ignition. I guess I picked the right people. That guy in Ohio should be water boarded

  6. You and anyone else who needs rod systems absolutely should go to greatlakesplaners.com as they are right in upstate New York.  Others on the LOU recommended them to me.   I bought a pair of triples this winter and really like everything about them.   Well made, fully adjustable, the price was right and shipping free.  I will look to them first for anything I may want to add in the future.
If those are the double three traxstechs in the picture with the black cap end missing I'm interested
