  1. Went out 9-17 in the evening for a few hours. The day before this there were good temps in 40-50 fow and 30 to 35 feet down so that's where I started. Temps had moved out a little deeper to 70-80 fow about 45 to 50 feet down but unfortunately I spent too much time looking for scattered fish in shallow water before I found that out. Just a couple hits and managed to boat 1 nice king in low 20lbs. There is still a good amount of fish out there scattered around but I can tell at this point with the right flow and temp they will all be rushing to the rivers and tributaries. I never found good numbers. I fished east from the port. Good luck to anyone getting out. Still some lake fishing to be had.
  2. Just trying to get some opinions from some different people but I have a smaller boat now that I will be selling soon so I may try to buy this fall before everyone winterizes them. Definitely got some great info from you guys and some new boats to look at. I appreciate all the information from you all.
  3. My first bigger boat was an I/O and yes I did have issues with it. So yeah I'm thinking outboard. I know some of the bigger bahas I believe are outboard and I thought some of the bigger Pen yans where as well. But definitely not positive. It would be around 25,000 ish or less maybe a little more if its a great deal. Planning to get a slip for sure. I can tow it but I don't want to. The only reason I picked the 3 is because they are the most common near me but I'm definitely open to anything hard top.
  4. I have some friends with the tiara boats and they love them but other that seeing them a few times I don't really know much about them. Definitely going to be checking those out.
  5. Thank you for that info, great idea!
  6. Absolutely, I totally agree with you. I have the number of a very reputable guy from Oswego to go thru for a survey. I'm definitely not getting burned ever again.
  7. I will definitely check those out as well. Thank you.
  8. Next spring I have finally decided to get in to a bigger boat but I can't really decide what I would like. I have heard a lot about all 3 I'm looking at. I'm just curious of anyone's opinion of what one you all would choose. I'm looking at Thompson's, Pen Yan's and Baha's. It would be a 23 to 28 foot boat. I'm leaning towards the Pen Yan's and Baha's.
  9. Fleas are definitely terrible. I was out by the plant this past Monday and couldn't believe how bad they were. I had one line that was left in an hour and when I brought it in I had 8 to 10 feet of solid thick fleas in one spot on my line.
  10. A few years back I had canvas work done at Cortinis in fulton ny. For a possible second option.
  11. Thank you for the info Yankee!
  12. I used to run it that way all the time before twinkle rigs ever came out. They worked well.
  13. Just trying to get a idea of meat leader lengths on king fishers or the 11 inch flashers. Been a while since I got out. Been out of the trolling game for several years.

  15. That's what I thought but when I bout them off a guy last year he just said it didn't have auto stop. Looks like they need to be repaired then.
  16. Ok thank you
  17. I have the mag 10 hs without auto stop. Does anyone know if you can add a auto stop to these and who could do this in Mexico or pulaski area?
  18. I only use them for bottom Lakers so I always have them on riggers but I'm sure you can run them just fine off of a dypsy. Early season I just use spoons in the upper water column.
  19. Not if your running them on a downrigger.
  20. Thank you anyway. Sent from my SM-S515DL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Looks like that one might be just for lures. I'm looking for dypsy divers with wire line charts, and other divers. Sent from my SM-S515DL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Looking for a trolling book with charts for wire line. Dypsy divers, jet divers. I think there used to be one out there. If you have one let me know. Sent from my SM-S515DL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I have launched my small boat out of there a few times, I didn't have any issues. Sent from my SM-A505U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Wire collects fleas like crazy because it's so thin but it cuts them off at the tip fairly well as your reeling in.
