Fished Mexico 8/22 in the afternoon 150 -250 fow . Never moved a rod . Piss warm water top to bottom. So on 8/23 in the morning, I went to 500-600 fow . Had temp 125-140 down . Went 5-6 with kings . Had my deep rigger down 140 ft with a rocket that took two kings . A 130 rigger with FF took a king . A 350 dipsey with FF took 2 kings . I’m hoping this wind the next few days bring in some cold water . I will be back Monday- Friday next week .
Fished Wednesday afternoon in front of big river 140- 300 FOW. Didn’t move a rod. Didn’t mark many . Thursday morning, I fished 115-140 FOW . Riggers parked at 110 and 100 ft with spoons. Took 2 kings and one tiny brown . Boy, fishing is slow .
Fished 7/6 in afternoon, went 4-6 on kings . By plant 180-300 fow . Riggers 70-95 FF and meat on deep rigger . Fleas are bad , had to clean lines every 30 minutes.
7/7 fished in morning, same area and depth. Went 2-4 . One steely and one king .
Fished this morning in front of the river . The west wind from yesterday, pushed 73 degree water in Mexico bay . Went 2-3 , 1 brown and one king in the warm water .
Fished today in front of big river . 140-120 fow , down 80-100 ft . FF. 1 ft or less today . Ended day with 4 kings. Got blown off around 3:00. More like 3-6 ft waves. Never trust the marine reports.
I fished Wednesday the 17 th, In front of the big river. 120 fow, 80 ft down. Picked up 3 kings. Fishing was slow, but should pick up . I’m going back up this Wednesday and Thursday.
