  1. Otters for us. They're the only board that we've used that won't flip over in rough conditions. Worth the price IMO.
  2. Yeah that's not good news. Let's hope it was just an isolated thing. Have any of you guys who've been out on either lake lately seen the same thing?
  3. A friend of mine was fishing on Cayuga last weekend and called to let me know that there were lampreys on well over half the fish they caught. Doesn't sound like it's any better here than on Seneca.
  4. I have both the Platinum Plus and the Fishin' Chip. The Fishin' Chip is by far my preferred chip for fishing. It shows 3' depth contours all over the lake. For navigational purposes, the Platinum Plus is a great choice.
  5. She's a beauty! Best of luck with her.
  6. AFW 30# camo is .012" in diameter. Their 20# camo is .011". By comparison, their 30# bright is .015". We've been running 30# AFW camo for years because it's more forgiving, has a higher tensile strength, and we can get it just as deep as we can with the 20#.
  7. They're beautifully made rods and I suspect that they'll be perfect for Cayuga.
  8. I just picked up some Daiwa Heartland "Kokanee" downrigger rods for Cayuga Lake. These Daiwa's are a lot lighter than the Heartland's we've been using up on Lake Ontario and I'm psyched to give them a run here next summer. I'm wondering what all of you use for downrigger rods on the Finger Lakes???
  9. We'll still get 20-25 days on Lake Ontario this year and I'll continue to write reports. I can't just walk away from her cold turkey! I'm most excited about having the boat 10 minutes from home and being able to use it a lot more than ever before. how many more days till splash down??
  10. You know we'll have the camera with us. We're looking at this as a golden opportunity to properly train the next members of our tournament team....Watch out in a few years!
  11. This is an older but lightly used Daiwa SG27LC . After it's last use it was sent back to Daiwa and was serviced. The reel functions like new but has a few cosmetic scratches on the side plates. First $75 takes it. Buyer to pick up locally in Ithaca, NY or pay actual shipping costs. Email me at [email protected] or PM me here.
  12. This is a very lightly used Daiwa AD47LC. After it's last use it was sent back to Daiwa and was serviced. The reel looks and functions like new. First $40 takes it. Buyer to pick up locally in Ithaca, NY or pay actual shipping costs. Email me at [email protected] or PM me here.
  13. This is a very lightly used Daiwa ADP57LC. After it's last use it was sent back to Daiwa and was serviced. It has 8 colors of leadcore and power pro backing on it. The reel looks and functions like new. First $75 takes it. Buyer to pick up locally in Ithaca, NY or pay actual shipping costs. Email me at [email protected] or PM me here.
  14. This is a nearly-new Penn 345GTi. It's one of the last American-made GTi's and is in great shape. Will hold 600' of copper and 300yds of backing. First $125 takes it. Buyer to pick up locally in Ithaca, NY or pay actual shipping costs. Email me at [email protected] or PM me here.
  15. Thanks guys. It's going to be fun having the boat here - we'll get to fish a lot more as a result and we'll still get plenty of days up on the big lake too. Dane - Thank you for the invite - we may just take you up on that! And you can certainly count on us continuing to promote the great fisheries here in NYS.
  16. Well, it's time to come home - after spending most of the last 10 years running all over Lake Ontario, we will be moving the boat back to Ithaca for the next few years. It's been a struggle for me to walk out the door every weekend and leave my two boys behind and I want to spend more time with them. It was a long decision-making process but I've finally decided that it's time to slow down the pace a little and spend my free time fishing with my kids on the beautiful lake here in our back yard rather than driving 2-3 hours to the big lake every weekend. We'll still run a few charters here locally and plan to fish the pro-am's on a friends boat, but I'm most excited about being able to spend lots more time with my boys on the lake and being able to use the boat more than just on weekends. It's been a while since I've spent a full season on Cayuga and I'm looking forward to getting back in the saddle. So, how's the fishing been on Cayuga the last couple of years??
  17. Get well soon Roy. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
  18. I might have some at home. I'm out of town until next weekend but will look for you when I get back. [ Post made via iPhone ]
