  1. Hey all, Attached is the deer from Saturday morning that I hit @ 10:21 AM. 150 yards of blood and then no blood. Dad and I hunted the next morning for 3 hours then went on recovery mission. Glad that I found him, but the yotes found him first. 19 inch inside spread. The ass end was torn apart and they urinated all over him. Big time bummer, but that's the way it goes sometimes. The morning was epic, with 5 bucks chasing doe all over the place, so I can't complain about that. Cheers until the next time. Good luck all. Steve
  2. Thanks SeaSQ! I hope to see him this Friday with the pin on him! Steve [ Post made via iPhone ]
  3. Chuck, Thank you again my friend for the pics!!! Go figure that one time I left the camera at home. Great job my right/left wing man!
  4. Ladies, Gents, Thank you all! That's my largest eye to date! Hoping there may be a few other good fish to come. So 7:15 AM running a rigger, dipsey and a lead core. Fish hit the lead core (5.5 colors) with a fire tiger rapala and the fun started. 10 minutes later, and a some-what ugly net job, he hit the deck. I was running from 70 FOW to 60 FOW when he took it. The bad thing was the 2 guys that were suppose to be there at first light were running late! Other than that, the day was pretty slow, 2 other releases, one with a nice 16" bow that was nice and wide. Last Monday was much more productive with the colder temps. Thanks for listening. S
  5. 14 pound eye on hemlock @. 730 am. Pics to follow [ Post made via iPhone ]
  6. Last minute deer. Last evening of the 2010 bow season. Been a strange bow season! After traveling to Pavilion for a month straight and not seeing a lot of deer, I decided to hunt behind my house in Webster. Got in the stand at 2:58 PM shot...him at 3:01 PM. Nice 10 point with a 19" inside spread. Hit him at 24 yards through a 8" window of branches. The hit was a bit forward, so I gave him some time. Got down check the arrow, he had 6 inched snapped off with the broad-head. Then the rain started, and had very little blood. About 45 minutes later found a nice area of blood. Turns out, I only hit one lung, so I had to put another arrow into the other lung about 1.5 hours after the first hit. While tracking him, had a 150-160 class 8 point 15 yards away from me on the ground. Watched him wrap behind me and right under my stand. Nothing like the last minute!
  7. Chuck, I went in and did some color edits for you! I know you wanted the nice 6-pack stomach, but that could have melted down my Mac...(probably shouldn't have said that)... Chuck got me on the radio just after they hooked up, I had 2 other guys in the boat with me and I was about a half mile south of Chuck while they were wrestling him in. We dropped a good heavy fish right of the bat, then Chuck is back on the radio going "holy @@@@, your not going to believe the size of this @@@@ fish!!!" Sure enough, he heads south and I head north, as we passed within 50 yards of each other he holds up what appears to be a blow up fish...Needless to say, it was very cool to talk to them while everything was unfolding...And, of course the 2 new guys on my boat had never been in Hemlock...now I don't think I can get rid of them after seeing all of that!!! So I'll just glomm on Chuck's post for now...Similar program to Chuck, 2 riggers with sliders, 2 dipseys, 1 lead core off a planer and a firewire planer on the surface. Went 7 for 10 for the day, 3 nice smallies, 1 bow, 3 lakers and 1 nice eye! Not a bad day considering Chuck threw down the dam gauntlet!!! Sunday went 2 for 2, both lakers, 3.5 pounder and a 8.5 pounder. WELL DONE CHUCK!!! Anyhoo, enjoy the late pics all!!!
  8. Holy Diver, Sorry about that pic, I had shadows and the rainbow would not hold still! Can't wait to catch up with you out there. How did you do on the eye's in Conesus? I had a bit of a slow spring for them this year, but we'll get into them. Dale, I know...I could not get my head shaved before the weekend!!! Oh well, silver it is!!! Good luck out there tomorrow, let me know how you do out there. Thanks Steve
  9. Cananadaguia 5.29 Had the pleasure of fishing with Laker Taker (Chuck) and his son...I mean the captain, Mitch. Launched out of the north end and made the run down the west side. Normal program, riggers, dipseys and the core. Had a nice steady pick of rainbows and a few lakers mixed in. Green/crome, pearl b, brass b, purple/chrome RR...etc, usual suspects. Ended up with 5 bows and 2 lakers, we did drop a few. I must say, I think Chuck is going to be bounced to the back of the boat, Mitch is one heck of a fisherman! Anyhoo...here's the pics. Overall 7 for 9ish Hemlock 5.30 Late start this morning, didn't hit the water until 9. Pretty day!!! Fishing was a little slow. Set up with 2 riggers and 2 dipseys. Dispey goes first and it's a little small mouth. Then it's dead quiet for hours on end...threw the whole box at them! 5 minutes before giving up, saw a large fish on the surface behind the boat chasing bait...pulled a dispey and sent out a black/chrome/orange rouge out 150 feet flat line, 2 minutes later, wham! fish on. Good friend Dean had the honor of wrestling this fish. Pulled all the lines, had to go under the riggers with the rod/fish and 20 minutes later, a nice 28", 11 pound brownie finally hit the net. A few pics of that outing. Overall 2 for 2 Hemlock 5.31 On the water by 6 AM. Set up first rigger with green/chrome, setting up second rigger when 1st one went off. Grabbed rod and watch a 6 pound rainbow go 8 feet out of the water and spit the spoon...great start! Lost him. Fished for several hours with nothing, then finally picked up a good fish only to have him break off. Then landed some small lakers in the 3-4 pound range. Overall 2 for 5. Some of the other guys that I fish with did very nice this day, including a dandy rainbow and some nice lakers! I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out so feel free Chuck to fill in the blanks!! Cheers!
  10. WELL DONE CHUCK!!! It was great to watch you catch them! I'm thinking that you need to re-name your boat "Pearl Bikini" Can't wait until next weekend! Steve
  11. Launched at 8:30 and on to one of my favorite spots. Rods out and by 8:45 and at 9:00 landed a 6 pound eye. 10:30 PM, landed a 9 pound northern. Pulled out bu 11:15...darn work getting in the way again. The usual program, silver bombers with orange belly on firewire. Wierd thing is I was making a wide turn over 46 FOW and that's when the eye hit. Northern was in the normal depth, 12-15 feet. Also got out on Conesus on Monday the 10th. Normal set-up, went 3 for 3...Nice 8 pound tiger and a pair of 10 pound northerns...but not one eye. May be hitting it again tonight. Cheers!
  12. Got out last Saturday (4.24) on Hemlock. On water from 6 AM to 7 PM and it was a decent bite, nothing busy. Went 5 for 6, one Brownie and four lakers. Largest laker was 8 pounds, the other were 3-4 pounds. Brownie was 2 pounds. Had a good fish on a fire tiger needle fish, lost it, upon further inspection the shaft of the hook broke 1/8" just below the ring...never had that one happen before. 1 laker was on dipsey, the other's on the riggers. Yellowtail, Halloween, Fire Tiger and Kevorkian did the damage. Riggers were 50' to 20' down over 70' to 60' bottom. Dipsy (88mm) was 2.5 setting and 175' out. Sorry for the delayed report. Be out chasing eye's after turkey hunting this weekend. Cheers! Steve

  15. One more quick picture from the phone once I found him. Dale, I know, damn gray hair is taking over my brain!!! I'll blame it on Jack
  16. Got out Saturday morning with temp in the 90's, wind from every direction...and a ton of a rain. As I was walking into the stand in the dark, got about 10 yards from the stand and a deer jumps up from my side, about 5 steps away...after I grab my heart from the branches, I continue the next 10 steps to the stand and settle in. 20 minutes into it, I roll the can and a few soft grunts, few minutes later, 1 good sized doe comes in from the back, then she's trailed by 4 others. Life is good. Gets to 20 yards then the wind decides to play with me, she picks me up 1-2 steps before the first shooting lane. By by. 5 minutes later, the same group come's back. Same darn thing happens again...1 more step, then the wind twists again. They head away in a different direction...about 1-2 minutes later, a nice 8 pointer comes down the does path. He come in on the backside, of the tree. Takes his time, some grunts...more grunts...hits the trail the doe were on. Comes right in to 13 yards, when I needed 12 yards. He stops, I'm at full draw...waiting, waiting, and waiting. Wind decides to shift in his direction and he's getting spooky. He decided to take 1 more step, and that's all I needed, Settle the pin, let it fly, dead deer. Good size body to him. Life is good. A few picks. Thanks for listening.
  17. Chuck! I should have gone fishing instead of spending 8 hours in the tree only to see 1 doe...ouch! Nice job on the fish! Hopefully I can connect this weekend and spend some time out on Hemlock/Canandaguia. ncallahan03 I like those Key West boats. How many hours do you have on that? Thanks Steve
  18. Laker Taker cannot login to his account, he's having issues. So here's the skinny, in the water @ 4:30 am and fished till about 11:00 am. Put in and worked the north end, deepest rigger was 50 FOW over 60 to 100ish FOW. 6 bows and 1 brown total. Enjoy the pics!!! Steve
  19. Here's a shot of the brown. I'll let Laker Taker fill in the details. Steve
