  1. It is just absolutely disgusting that they put a pay raise in for themselves $25 million(democrats).  All of them need to be voted out of office the next time they run! They have done nothing for the taxpayer for the last three years.  What a bunch of blood sucking leeches!

    Our government (Quebec) want us to put ourself in quarantine for 14 days after coming back from another country including the USA. We are a bunch of guys that are schedule to go fishing on lake Ontario in April and we are not interested in being in the house for 14 days on our return. For my part I also own a camp upstate NY on Champlain so...

    Will see , things may change in a week or two.

    Wally;

    So what if you don't quarantine, are they going to have the RCMP come & give you a good spanking????

    I bought a new Hewescraft SR220 (HC after this) from a dealer in Illinois in 2011 (Calumet Marine, who is no longer a dealer),  after owning 2 different Lunds, a 16 ft side console, & a 20' Newport CC, loved them both, but they are without a doubt not in the same league as my HC.  I have had zero issues with the HC. HC's make up a large portion of boats under 30' registered  in Alaska' for the simple reason that they are bullet proof. Hull material is significantly thicker, & the welding is a thing of beauty for sure.  You pay for what you get in this case.

     Best of luck with your decision!

  4. All;

    Heard a rumor that the keeper size walleye is going up to 18".  Does anyone know if this is in fact true? We now have spiny water fleas in the lake too, saw some on my terminal tackle when fishing last year, hope they don't get as bad as Lake Ontario.

    Thanks;

    I put them on a 20' deep vee aluminum 1966 Chrysler Lonestar polara (that i completely repurposed to a side console beast)w/ Yamaha 130--the boat wanted to turn hard left above 3800 rpm...tried many things.  Smart tabs made it 1000% better-not perfect but could run safely at 35 mph without fighting the torque.  They were a great help with proper planing as well.

    good luck and happy holidays

    Hi ri;

    Had the hard pull you describe with a 20' Lund Newport with a 175 Yammy, & I changed the steering system to a zero feedback system, problem solved & I did not look back.

    Merry Xmas

    Saltist 50 and be done. You don't need line-counters for junk rods, so toss out the akward line-counter position argument and they are the best reel you can buy for what we do. Buy it once and be done rather than a competitors reel you have to put drags in. We're running Saltist on our charter boat that are 7/8 seasons old with more use than most rec anglers will put on them and they are still awesome with little to no maintenance ever done on them.

    YT;  Is this the Diawa reel you are recommending? STTLW50HA

    Thanks,

  7. After reading all this, I sure am glad that I have four Traxtech riggers on my boat!  Turn the unit on, drop the weight in & set zero at the surface, key in the depth you want to go to & hit auto down, (unit has slow down start & stop), if  you want to go up key in the depth you want & hit auto up, done fishing hit auto up & the weight comes up quickly with slow down for the last 5 feet. Four flawless years on them now.

    good luck to all

    Rick,

    Ouch Rick....

    I guess the same can be said with a dodger or certain flashers??  One can assume :) Is it the offering behind it really or the snap of does the flasher/type/color really matter after all?

    Does the wire used with wire divers attract/catch more fish than braid or mono line?  Cant prove the wire does per se' but they do make a hum and do catch fish more. :) that braid typically (Or at least that's the rumor :)

    Are u promoting CANNON riggers because a lot of anglers don't have riggers that can pull 20 pound weights without something breaking. I know CANNONS do tho...  But not all will or can.

    Just my 2 cents

    ds

    There are a number of riggers that can easily handle 20LB rigger weights, I have owned two brands that do, Bigjon, & my current riggers Traxtech, so, I don't understand your comment on Cannon?
