Sean: I got a sealant from West Marine....it was a 3M product....I don't have any left, but seems to me it was like a 4200 grade silicone. They had 1 kind that was "stronger", but the guy at the store said to use this one. John

I'm a wire guy, but when we hit LO last year it was not as good as in year's past....who knows.... It's amazing when you look at all the tackle we accumulate and how good one lure can be one year, and not the next....I always tell my crew we should put on the oldest, ugliest lure that caught fish 10 years ago....and I bet we'd get just as many. In the mid 80's on Erie, the alpena diamond was the must have walleye lure.... now I can't tell you the last time I caught one on that..! John

The Chautauqua Suites hotel in Mayville, NY (Chautauqua Lake) will be holding its second annual Steelhead expo on March 21 and 22. This was a nice smaller show last year, probably the size of the LOTSA show or maybe a hair bigger. Supposedly had 1500 tickets over 2 days. Last year catered to the fly fisherman, but this year they are expanding it to include other appropriate vendors. So, consequently I will be there with Capt. Bud (Alibi), and we are scheduled to be giving a seminar on Lake Erie tactics and equipment. For more information go to discoverchautauqua.com John

Just got this from NACO..... So far the current status is that you must get a TWIC card if you have a merchant's license. The Congressman who introduced the exemption legislation was not reelected so we are attempting to get support from someone else to reintroduce it. However, you can go to tsa.gov to reenroll at your local office.

Additional information on the riggers, as I've had a couple of inquiries on the age..... I bought these new in the early 1990's. At the time, they were the 3rd and 4th riggers on the boat I had then. Boat was stored in a barn when not in use, so not a lot of weather wear. I changed boats twice since then, and litterally they have not been out of the basement in 7 years. They are in very good condition, and do not have much use on them at all. Plus the deal includes the old metal swivel bases, and 3 holders per rigger. These would make a great starter pair, as they come with everything. *** John
