  1. seems to me that full moon equals decreased buck activity according to my data. However the moon phase following the full up to new moon seem great for big buck movement

  6. Really not too windy this afternoon. Glad I made it out here. Possibly a great sit if this wind dies down. Let's just hope I picked the right stand to be in.
  7. Awesome... congrats to you both!
  8. A quick report on Opening day... 5 young bucks and 10 does/fawns seen from the stand in the am. I was hoping for an opportunity on one of my 2 big guys They had walked every day this week but not on saturday. I sidelined myself for the afternoon after knowing the weather that was coming. Both of my big guys walked but not until 635 and 652 pm yesterday. The weather this morning looks awful as I sit in my warm office but I might consider this afternoon. TBD!

  12. Crazy how active deer were yesterday morning vs today = crickets
  13. So I thought I would share these statistics from my Reveal app. These are based off of my photo file for 2025 bucks. That file is compiled of what I guess is bucks 3.5 or better and every picture that is taken. I'm running 13 cameras on multiple properties. These cams are programed to take 3 pictures at a time and no delay. As you can see there are 1000+ pictures starting from early September until today. Wind direction Barometric Pressure Time of day Moon phase What things stand out for you? Or what might be a surprise to you?
  14. I repeat... THE BIG BOYS ARE WALKING THIS MORNING!!!
  15. The big boys are on their feet this morning!!!
  16. Today was very quiet on cameras vs the past few days
  17. 23.5 degree shot angle (according to my math- 120" rise vs 276" run) 1/3 of the way down on the body Ends up in spine... Still puzzles me
  18. Pa buck down! 2.5 year old 8pt. Since my kid and I were tagged out here in NY we headed to Pennsylvania to hunt with a small outfitter in Millville, Pa. I didn't have any major expectations but my hopes were for a possibility of a 3.5 or older buck. I didn't see anything more than a handful of young bucks but my kid saw at least one shooter everyday. 2.5 year old 8pt on Thursday, a tall thick racked 8pt on Friday, a solid 8pt on Saturday, and a hammer 10 on Saturday. The biggest deer he said he's ever seen in the woods. Each of the first 3 days he saw some chasing. He just never had a shot at them. The hammer he saw on Sunday chased a doe past him at 25 yards! We hunted all Thursday Friday and Saturday. I never saw anything worth shooting in those first 3 days. Sunday we planned on just hunting until 10 and then heading home. My kid hunted the same place he had been hunting the past 2 days but with a slight adjustment to his set to the drainage ditch the deer had been using. I hunted about 200 hundred yards in between him and where we thought the deer were coming from. I was just on the ground tucked into a downed tree on the hillside just above the logging road. At 730 this 8pt made his way along the Ridgeline adjacent to the logging road. 23 yards and he didn't go 6 feet. Something odd about the shot. It was 23 yards and I would say I was at least 10 ft higher in elevation than the deer. I would say the arrow entered about 1/3 down on the chest but somehow the arrow ended embedded in his spine. So one lung and spine on that angle? Strange... I gave the meat to the outfitter who was happy about filling his freezer with burger and jerky. A win win for everyone. Great ground down there. We will be back Im sure.
  19. Good morning from Pa. Day 3 Action has been slow for me however my kid has had action all 3 days so far.
  20. Cold morning here in Pa. One spike so far...
  21. No doubt the most mature buck midday activity all year has been today. Cameras were very quiet right after sunrise but have been on fire since about 930.
  22. Well I'm back in the action. First ever sit in the state of Pennsylvania! No action yet for me. My kid however had a little action with two young bucks brawling.
  23. Cameras have been on fire all week, lots of doe bumping, and scrapes are getting crushed. Great time to be in the woods. With that being said... I am heading to PA today to get in the action. Ill be back in the woods Thursday- Sunday. Hoping I have some good action to give a play by play.
