Look at this monster buck!!!! I'd love to know how old he is.

Opening day gun season The bad... Well the morning started with a trespasser to the north of me shooting 14 times before 8am. He's a local guy and he just doesn't care about anything. I walked out about 10am to help my kid with his deer and found my truck was egged. Yes I said egged. I'm making the assumption that one of the neighbor's assumed it was me shooting up the woods right behind houses and was p*ssed. While I was loading my kids deer in my truck I got a picture of a trespasser (assuming it was the same guy) walking passed the stand I was just in. Please make note of the attire. Ridiculous stuff.

Opening day gun season The good ... We the highlight of my day was my kid taking down one of our target bucks. It was a unique deer with a double beam and he was very visible on cameras for us all season. I'm pretty damn impressed with the season he has had!

The past 36 have been the quietest my cameras have been all season

Coach put me in... I am actually excited for once for the start of gun season. i am so looking forward to being in the woods! Some terrible weather the past 3 days really has kept these deer from moving. The cold front tonight should really be good for opening day and the week that follows. BUCKS ARE MOVING THIS MORNING!!!

So just some camera observations... 1. Does just refuse to move during the daylight. About 90 percent of does on camera are in darkness with the other 10 percent about midday. 2. bucks are cruising all day long but day light hours seem best (especially from sunrise to about 11ish) 3. some mid day big buck movement 10-3

Deer p*rn...

Deer have been extremely active the past 24 hours. daylight and darkness doesnt even seem to matter.

Trail cams arent capturing the complete picture of mature buck travel right now. Most of my cameras are in spots meant to inventory the herd and are not in those travel corridors and or bedding areas. However yesterday I had 3 mature bucks on their feet during the daylight. Since last friday I have had steady buck movement through out the entire day but for the first time this year one my mature bucks was on his feet midday. My number 2 buck was out walking around yesterday at 1100. Some damn good weather short term and Im expecting some giants should fall this weekend.
