  2. December 17 pm 26 degrees NE wind 8-14 mph. Cloudy skies The deer moved late today. Saw a couple in the first field walking in and then don't think I saw a deer until after 4. After that they poured in. Deer were really grouped up. Had a big 8 show up with the first herd of does. The kid passed on three small bucks and had his eyes only on that deer. I let him take a 150'+ shot and clean miss. The shot obviously spooked the deer in the field but not one deer left and within 5 minutes they were all back to eating. Four days to go. 5. LOCBA Christmas Update LOCBA Members, Merry Christmas everyone! I’m sure at this point everyone is looking forward to a “Happy New Year” and ready to put 2020 in the rearview mirror. I know I am!!! Christmas- The holidays are the time of year that remind us to help those who are less fortunate. This certainly applies to our small community here on Lake Ontario. Keep in mind the pandemic has affected us all differently. If anyone is aware of a member and/or their family that is in need of help, please feel to reach out to me and let us get them some the help and support they need. Membership- It is the end of the year which means it is time for membership renewals. Going into 2021 the big push for the club will be with growing our membership. Keep in mind that whether you are a recreational fisherman or a professional on Lake Ontario this club welcomes your support. It is important to realize we are only as strong as our members and we need our members out there promoting and recruiting for us! 2020 has created some additional challenges for the club but we have managed to really make some giant steps for the future. I am confident we now have the means and the platform to unify all anglers on the entire lake. Our club’s purpose is to advance the charter boat industry and increase sport fishing opportunities on Lake Ontario. And no doubt that is what we are going to continuing doing by supporting pen rearing projects, tournament sponsorships, seminars, NYSDEC and other agencies communication, sport fishing promotion, legislation… Let it be known we are willing to share our support and influence in any way that we can. I also welcome any ideas that our members have to get us involved! Our club’s website will be handling all our membership transactions moving forward. Our new website has been a great addition and will serve as the perfect tool for our club. PayPal will be processing all of the payments. If you have a PayPal account, then you are aware of how it works if you don’t then PayPal will still be able to process your payment with a credit card. Please take the time at sign up to upload all your social media links, website, picture, ect. Here is the membership link that you can with everyone! https://lakeontariocharterboatassociation.com/sign-up/ If you or someone you know would like to receive the club’s emails, there is a “newsletter” link on the bottom of front page of the club’s website https://lakeontariocharterboatassociation.com/ . Once you sign up then you will receive all the club’s correspondence (as a member this is automatic). CPR/ First Aid Certification- After doing some research I have found an online CPR and First Aid course that is accepted by the USCG. This is literally the only one that I am aware that exists. These links have been added to the club’s website. Check out the links below for more information. https://www.emergencyuniversity.com/.../p-175-adult... https://www.dco.uscg.mil/.../9/NMC/pdfs/courses/courses.pdf Meetings- I sent an email out earlier this month regarding the temporary suspension of our monthly membership meetings. Judging by our Governor’s actions I don’t anticipate any change to this in the near future. Until we turn the corner dealing with the pandemic (from both a political aspect and a health aspect) we will need to find alternative methods to do “business”. Please do not hesitate to contact me! 6. PM sits on food sources are best but ams between bedding and food can also be good once things calm down a bit. The amount of gun pressure the deer saw will dictate a lot. The biggest trick to late season is finding the hottest food source you can find. Usually late gun season shows you what that is. Every year it tends to be different for me and depends on the farmers crop rotation. The other variable is snow. Snow cover changes everything.
  7. December 15 pm 28 degrees NW wind 5-10 mph Partly Cloudy Well my first sit in over two weeks. Sat with my kid tonight in a make shift blind trying to fill his muzzleloader buck tag. Saw a ton of deer in the last hour and actually the most deer of any sit all season. Just couldn't get a buck within comfortable shooting distance. Seven more days to go. Back at it tommorow afternoon. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Funny thing is this reminds me of my wife. She would say something like " why dont you just shoot one of the bucks you have on your camera thingy"?
  9. Thought about it. I own everything to be able to do it. Unfortunately I don't have the property to be able to do it. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  11. Ugh... damn wind! 22-30 mph by dusk...
  12. So Im all set for my trip to Ohio for late muzzleloader in January. I just purchased my license and they do things very different. It is certainly not cheap! The reason I like Ohio is I love the fact it gives me a opportunity to extend the hunting season. Instead of cutting into our season here. Im leaning towards September Maine bear hunting to add to the short list. Any other suggestions of late season or early season out of state hunts?

  14. Im using 1/4" clear vinyl tubing. You can buy it at your local Lowes store. It is great to be able to swap out leaders or flies as needed.
  15. Good luck to everyone today trying to fill those last second gun tags! Im looking forward to being back in the woods tomorrow after a long hiatus. Looks like seasonable temps until next weekend but im not seeing enough snow to change things a whole lot. Temps seem good however the wind is a whole different story. Looks like winds are all over the place. We will probably see every wind direction this week with a couple of days with some very high winds. Love the late season!!!
  16. Touch base with Blier I would bet he has a few
