Well I wasn't planning to hunt today but the weather changed my mind. The rain quit here about 245 and at 247 one of my shooters was on cam. So he I am on the West end of a scrape line. The last time I counted there were 18 scrapes (plus 3 mock scrapes). along this 250 yard stretch.
Not sure if anyone is looking for a hunting/mapping/weather app but check out the "Spartan Forge" app. I dont think I have seen anything better to date. Pretty impressed with the amount of info all in one app.

Crazy morning in the woods!
Lots of deer on their feet throughout the morning until about 930ish. Tons of does and fawns and more importantly 9 different bucks. Today I had 3 of my shooters within 50-70 yards and all at different times this morning. Unfortunately no shot opportunities.

I had high expectations of an amazing sit this this afternoon after a fairly slow morning. I saw more does and fawns then i have all year and only a few bucks. One of those bucks was one of my shooters. He snuck by me about 635ish at about 45 yards.

Not as active this morning as I would have expected with Frosty cold start. I did see 4 year and half old bucks and handful of flatheads between 8-9. The highlight of the am sit was getting a glimpse of one of my shooter 9pts cutting through the golden rod about 930ish.
My kid missed a big 10pt this am. He saw 2 deer and both were bucks. He said they both worked passed his stand and worked a nearby scrape.

Late report but the afternoon sir was stellar. Lots and lots of deer on their feet and Early. Saw 1 of my target bucks and saw a new buck. Big 9 pt point with a heavy limp. I didn't see anything visibly wrong with him but he had a pimp walk.
I would recommend a quality ball bearing swivel at the business end of your coppers. I would also recommend a longer leader length. I personally like 36' of fluoro for my coppers.

Took a few days off to avoid the heat. Cold front rolled in last night so I figured it would be a good bet to be in a tree this am. Went into one of my deep woods sets and it didn't disappoint. Tons of action. I think I saw 7 different bucks.
Highlight of the day was listening to two bucks in an absolute battle Royale. Antlers crashing, and sticks breaking. It was madness. One of the bucks was making a noise I haven't heard before. He was aggressively blowing but not like you would hear from an alert doe. It sounded more like I'm pissed off and out of breath. Maybe a buck roar but he was winded. It was wild to hear in the woods. He must of done it 12-15 times until the other buck ran off.
Be aggressive. Looks like a great day. Im going into a deep woods set on thursday morning and going after my #1. I have been waiting for the right wind and a cold front and it looks like its happening.
