Spent midday today at the range with my kid and the muzzleloaders. Shot both the old and the new and Im confident that they both are shooting well. Looking forward to the late season with my kid! "Old" Muzzleloader Traditions LT Pursuit Bushnell Scope 100 Grains Triple 7 pellets TC Shock Wave .50 caliber 250 grain sabot Winchester/ Triple 7 standard 209 primers "New" Muzzleloader CVA Accura v2 Leupold VX-Freedom Muzzleloader 3-9x40 Scope 95 grains Blackhorn 209 Barnes Spit-Fire TMZ .50 caliber 250 grain sabot CCI Magnum 209 primers Very different guns and very similar results on the range but without a doubt I prefer the CVA.

Good luck to all. Love seeing the success stories. I havent been out since shooting a buck last weekend. With meat in the freezer, im really trying to lay low until late season. I am truly grateful to wrap a tag around a set of horns but nothing compares to the hunt. But damn Im missing the time in the woods. I finally cleared my work schedule so I should be able to hunt the entire late season. My hopes are to hunt with my kid and get him a shot at another buck. The biggest challenge will be to get him to commit to the grind. My plan is to spend some more time with him at the range this week and really try to educate him on the muzzleloader.
