  1. In Fisherman did a show on Alligator Gar a while back. Unreal!!! Pretty interesting stuff.
  2. The launch is OK at best. Some guys on saturday were power loading, most were not. I would only use the north ramp, stay away from the center and either side. Docks are out.
  3. Nice report Yankee. Only fished that lake one time years ago out of a row boat. Would really like to get back. I just got back from 5 days in Canada with the guys. Caught a decent amount of fish, but no real big ones. The pike were just nosing at the spinner bait. Had one drift where I had 3 SM bites, 2 threw the Jig in the air, one broke off. The two I saw were BIG, the other felt better............ It was a good 5 minutes.
  4. It can be pretty stingy. The better fish only bite when you are not in a TX. My excitement level for the rest of the fall bite was pretty good when the spoon produced!!!
  5. My dad wanted to get out and do some fishing, so my parents came up from PA for the weekend. We decided to go to Keuka, just wanted to get out, relax and have fun. We hit Penn Yan at about 6:45am, get the boat ready and we are off! As we are putting in, we hear the blast off of the Dave Woods open. I had to twitch a little, love that sound. The weather forecast had looked like rain, but it stopped by the time we got to the water, and held off the rest of the day. The weather was overcast, air temp was cool, about 50 degrees. Water temp was between 70 and 71 everywhere we were in the Penn Yan branch. We make a pretty cold quick run down the lake to our fist spot. The wind was light so I get my dad set up with a wacky rig Senko. I start out with a spinner bait. He gets a few rock bass and a few small large mouths pretty quick. Not a bad start. SB and cranks go nothing for me as we worked down the outer weed edge. I picked up a non-keep on a DS. We had been marking some fish out deeper, but no takers on the DS. The wind pickd up, so I bump out, throw out the drift sock and set up my dad with a tube. I was getting the spoon ready for the biggest concentration of marks we had. Drop the spoon down the best marks, reach down the screw with the drift sock, get a bite and miss it. Real up, check out everything, drop back it. Second lift fish on. About a 2.5lb SM breaks me off jumping at the boat. Oh well, should have netted it. Retie and re-drift. Second drift gives up no bites on the spoon but dad swings and misses on the tube. We decide to move onto some new water. We run to the west side and start working down the outer weed edge, concentrating on points. I worked the DS most of the day and dad threw a senko. We ended up with a few nice ones on both baits (both SM and LM) and a ton of rock bass. A few pickerel were thrown in for good measure. We got to see the Sea Planes flying over the lake, which was pretty cool. Headed in about 2:15 with the intent of beating the tx guys, of course we timed it just right to be there at the same time they were all getting in. All in all it was a great day on the water. A few pics should be below! Bill
  6. Sounds like I am glad I decided to stay home! Not really, I am sure it still would have been fun. Had to fix what I broke Saturday at Seneca.... Conesus has been a little off for parts of this year I think. Our club open on July 7th (ish) didn't have "great" bags. I think we were 6th or 7th with 13 1/2 pounds. Winners had 18ish. Not like 2 years ago when 18+ didn't cash!
  7. Yankee, I have some posted on NYBASS. They are small, but there. I can email them to you if you want... Bill
  8. He got co2 and paint with it so it will be ready to rock and roll...... I won't be cutting in front of you!
  9. thanks for the good wishes Yankee. The Cougars and Pumas are nice. This is way better than what I had (nothing). Its tough though after riding in new 19-22 ft rangers and Skeeters in my club and BFL's. I must say though, I am very happy with the rough water ride. Now, all I have to do is learn to drive it and we wll be all set!
  10. Spyder Compact Deluxe. Bought new in 2002, give or take a year. Used 3 or 4 times. Perfect condition, just gave my garage wall a splash of color. No scratches, had been covered in Camo tape its whole life. Includes 200 round hopper, squigee if I can find it. Still has original box. Again would prefer not to ship, but will. If it is picked up, or we meet to fish, I will include a 20 oz CO2 tank free of charge, still with some in it. Also can have the "custom" camo cover for the tank. $50 obo
  11. Sold, sold sold. Cleaning out the basement of stuff I absolutely no use for. Can generate some cash for my new to me BassCat. Hoyt Mystic Rebel, 60-70lb draw, 30" draw length. Includes quiver, 3 Beamen (sp??) carbon arrows, sight, rest. Needs a new string, and one sight pin is broken. Other than that it is in great shape. I bought it new in 98 or 99. Used it for 2 seasons then went to college and stopped hunting. I would prefer not to ship, pick up in Elmira, NY 14903. Or we can meet somwhere and fish, my boat or yours. If someone really wants it shipped, they will pay actual shipping cost. Pics available via email. Pics are posted on nybass. Make offer, I need a GPS, like daiwa reels, picasso spinner baits and jigs, etc.... Bill
