Thanks. You are correct. I had to order a cobra external gps that plugs into the back 🤦♂️ I assumed for the price they automatically had the internal gps.
thanks again
The gps must have a clear access to the sky. Mounting the radio under the console or in a cabin will make it useless.

Glad to hear everyone is okay. Good thing so many caring people out there, quite an eye opener. Hope you feel better as time goes by and get out there again. Stay safe everyone, Thanks for sharing.
Those new four stroke engines add over 100 pounds on the transom . Also a kicker transom engine adds over another 100 pounds. The bilge water will add weight to the transom. When the boats were designed and tested they probably used a lighter two stoke engine and no trolling engine [emoji17]. I banged a lot of props over the years and never sank a boat. Raising the lower unit also took floatation away.

Late summer kings hit a lot of higher speed, such as over three mph, with heavy large spoons.

I have been running my rigs from 1.9 to 2.4 all of July for the best results . Also last year .
The bigger Kings seem to be lazy.
I have gotten double up when I hook a screamer and slow down or take boat out of gear and another rod goes off .
This has happened more than you might think .

When using divers be aware that deep diving plugs tilt your diver up and you lose a lot of depth control. Lures like Rapala stick baits do not have a lot of drag. That tips the diver up and cause a lot of depth control. Flashers are better off down riggers where your blow back angle tells you where your true depth is .

When I hooked A big king, I let out another 100 foot of line and then cleared all lines and riggers. With the engine I chased a lot of line back
up and when we were near the boat we shut the engine down and raised it out of the water so the bottom of the boat was clear of obstructions. When the fish rolled on its side we then netted it.

OMG. I'm glad to hear you all were able to get to shore safely.

So the so called level floatation does not work with a heavy large four stroke engine?

That's awesome!!! It's so great to see the kids go from timid to excited.

Keeping your children away from “Tom Sawyer “ types helps .

Septic systems from lake side cottages are guilty also. Lawn fertilizer contributes also.

Cold August nights cool smaller stream water temperatures down and the kings stage in deep cold bottom water just offshore of streams like 18 mile creek in Olcott. A lot of prize winners came from there.

My Veterinarian advises you to never let your dog swim in the algae since some of it is deadly.

Pacific salmon die in the stream to provide feed for their new generation. Mountain streams are mostly snow and glacier melt water. Very nutrient deficient and the decaying carcasses are the food newly hatched fry, fingerlings and steelhead that winter over in the rivers and streams feed on.
Also aquatic insects feed on the carcasses that feed the new generations.

Try unhooking the fish with a pole with a hook screwed into the end. Catch the lure hook with the pole and the hook easily releases. Safer than getting your self hooked by a thrashing fish.

Which is why I use pinch pad releases that are hooked on to the weight.
Offshore, Scotty or Cannon .
The pull of the line keeps the weight from spinning on the way down .
I also believe it help to keep the weight from swinging back and forth down there and tracks straighter .
I use to use blacks, and that would happen occasionally so I switched.
But if the black has a,bearing above , such as a metal bead , the weight can spin and the black should not .
Roemers do the same thing even worse as they clamp on the line .
Hasn't happened again in 20 + years .
Always lower the weight using the clicker on the reel to keep the line straight.

Copper Rapala split rings straighten and release big kings.

A lot of algae results from unharvested fish that decay on old age. The catch and release fishing with stocking fish programs resulting in the Algae situation .

You are exactly right.
Consider a Soviet, Chinese or Nazi flag. With them no comments would be allowed.

When setting dipseys all ways use the clicker on the reel to let them out slow enough to keep the dipsey from spinning over your lure line.

Cold nights in August bring cold stream water into Lake Ontario. That is where the kings congregate off shore in the cold water. The Niagara River has warm Lake Erie water flowing till November.

Warm summer waters create their own weather off shore when a cold from passes. Those TV weather people have no idea what goes on offshore . I always add 5 to 10 mph to their on shore forecasts. After seventy years fishing I might know something.

I'd get torpedo or shark weights to start with. They're a lot more aerodynamic and don't have as much blowback. Current can also play a huge role, so watch out for that
The Fishin’ Physician Assistant
Late summer season succeeds when you use heavier spoons at 3 plus mph speeds for kings. Dipsey Divers work well at deep waters when your cannonballs will not hold at 80 plus feet of water.

Thats awesome. How much does a trip like that cost? I’ve been wanting to do a tuna trip for as long as I can remember also. Even considered sellin my salmon gear and boat and start tuna fishing. Lol. I could eat fresh Tuna everyday. Great trip.
Another area for tuna is “Nags Head, NC in March. Out of Oregon Inlet 40 miles to the steaming Gulf Stream you can do well.

You would need a iarger board to hold up the diosey unless it is a smaller one.,

When you believe the screen on your graph is “empty “ change your frequency setting to a lower rate. Deep water fish will pop up on the screen. I have found fish down to 200 feet deep playing with lower frequency numbers and pulse rates.
