  1. Vince is in the house !!!! I knew he would show................
  2. Applaud your efforts and energy Dave !!!! Interesting !!!!! Will you be detailing/listing daily winners and what fish are being taken on/boats/charters listed via the net Also what you are saying is if you get 60 non captains and 30 captains who all register their boats this is a go? or if you had 40 captains and 40 non captains, as long as you covered payouts? If so it sounds like this will def. happen (: What if I pay my $300 and register as a non-captain but I have 1 or 2 of my buddies who are each captains but they each have their charter boats registered and happen to fish with me (non captain) on my non charter boat > ? Would that work Tom

  4. Another great dealer show for 2010 in the books: Buffalo, NY Dealers come out in any weather, at vulnerable times of the year and deal with many variables, cash flows, economy, requests to carry the latest of everything. Their expected to look into the future and stock what will be hot for the upcoming season. Next time your in your favorite tackle outlet extend a thank you for the trouble taken at hand to keep the needs met in a tough market. A-TOM-MIK would like to thank the following: Kingsway Sports, Shortwave, Slippery Sinker, Gagnons Sports, Tall Tales Bait n Tackle, Narby's Superette, Fat Nancy's Tackle, Poor Richards, LaRock's Outdoors, Fishing World, Angling Outfitters, Tightlines Fisherman's Warehouse, Bills Bait n Tackle, Peter's Tackle, Henchen's Marina, St. Peter's Outfitters, Bronte Outdoor's, Grimsby Tackle, Fishing Fanatics, JB Tackle, Woody's Tackle, All Season's Sport's, Screwy Louie's, Sodus Bay Tackle, others will also be sure to write future orders before the season is upon us, hope I did not miss any. For A-TOM-MIK hot items were nuclear glows and UV colors, also new glows in blue, green, chartreuse and yellow flies. Our coppers have become a very popular item, constant demand is out there and almost every single shop is now requesting, and willing to supply for future needs. Various reel manufacturer's are catering to copper use, sort of an explosion lake-wide as its success has spread like wild-fire. Again, THANK YOUR LOCAL SHOP, for their trouble !!! Tom
  5. Most all shirts have shipped Please send E Mail to me (with trans # from Pay Pal) to [email protected] if you did not receive your shirt There could be issues with your payment and I may not have received it TYVM Tom
  6. Good stuff Maverick, thanks for your work and interest, it will benefit us all I agree with you !! I also sent along an Email to Bob looking for a possible future sponsorship package of some kind from us to help his derby in some way. Believe it or not there are derbies around that only allow you to fish one derby at a time, not cool in my personal opinion. It is good to know that will not be the case with the LOC or the $1000/day !!! Please keep us posted, many eager ears around !!! We want this, It is good stuff for us all !!! I will spread the word in my community, as I stated I have brought it up to tackle shops ever since I first read a column from Bill Hilts a while ago, right up until most recently I have inquired. If I can add a banner or anything from my site just let me know. Maverick, sent you a pm Tom
  7. I've happened across a few local tackle shops which also happen to be LOC weigh stations recently who have known nothing about this. I contacted Dave today on a separate issue and also brought this up, he did not have a derogatory nature to his voice concerning the new derby. Dave is one to know of the tremendous leg-work that will need to be done to bring this to life for all of us to enjoy. Lets hope for the best, lots of possible cash up for grabs this season !!! Tom

  15. During my bait delivery days we use to make a bulk drop to Ron at A-1, Ron would meet us weekly and take several hundred pounds of various baits including mostly shiners, if anybody has any different contact info from below I am sure he could lead you in the right direction. This was an old cell I use to have for Ron 716-870-2170 I pulled this off his site 716-297-5480 Tell him the Egg-Man Tom from Oswego sent you and that he said Ron was giving our free shiners !!! Tom
  16. These series of events (3) are each open communication and no observer Gerry did ask for an opinion on that subject just yesterday following all our Pro/Am ado from the last few weeks, to see if that topic should be re-looked at I feel open communication for these type/ low dollar/ somewhat family oriented/ events is the right decision I can't honestly say that I know what a majority of our participants would want concerning this But I can say if that topic was to arise I am sure it would be looked into Just a few feelings Paul for ****s and grins: -I feel the KOTL runs fine with a no observer/open communication type policy, I wouldn't expect more from that event (nothing bad meant) (Similar entry fee) -My personal opinion is the best "formatted" event on the lake is the "Tightline Shootout" this w/mandatory observer & closed communication (Similar entry fee) -Our events: Oswego, Fair Haven, and Mexico are loved by many and are taken by different levels of seriousness, ex. Sea Devil and the Screamer boys "play to win", while a different majority of the pack "play to be involved and for fun" , these personalities have worked well together in the last 3 to 5 years with very minimal conflict (Non-Similar entry fee) -The "prized" Pro/Am's breed another personality all together, while they do unite different levels of personalities they also create deeper passions for those involved at all levels. Passions that are felt by more of the players involved, I have the deepest respect for the Pro/Am's out of all 13 tourney style events I try to fish each season. My reason is due to the altitude I have felt these events be lifted to. (Similar entry fee) I knew this would be asked Paul, and rightfully so an answer was deserved. I do not wish to downplay the seriousness that our 3 local to Oswego events are taken by some, but quite frankly they are not marked to the depth of a Pro/Am type setting, and they are 10 times less financially alone to play part Thanks for your interest Tom
  17. These are most if not all http://www.lakeontarioproam.net/sponsors/ http://www.lakeontarioproam.net/wayne/ http://www.lakeontarioproam.net/oswego/
  18. Oswego has named this event after us I would like to thank Captain's Gerry Bresadola "Dixie Dandy" and David Wilson "Spankmayer Charters" for this honor. Formerly known as the "Oswego Mustad Challenge" http://www.co.oswego.ny.us/info/news/2009/071709-6.html http://www.lakeontariofishing.net/dixie_dandy.htm http://www.captainexperience.com/ We are honored to say the least, we look forward to future sponsorship of this event as well as Werners popular event The Fair Haven Challenge and Mikes' Little Salmon River Challenge We have close to 200 teams all together, who enjoy these easy-going/family oriented events, low dollars, high fun, and at times reaching over 100 teams in one port alone. WOW !!! A-TOM-MIK is ecstatic !!!
  19. Tell Billy Bob I said Hello, Ive dealt with him since he took over Seneca Marine. He does see some traffic down there for sure !! Rick Angel also use to have his own little event/spring based/ before he passed (in Montour Falls), Does anybody remember the crow? I recall Rick coming to Lady O even to partake in our fishery on many occasions!! Tom
  20. Perfect implication Gill-T I have often used that myself to coordination However, until they personally want "No Communication" we will not have it Unfortunate, I will be the first to agree Tom
  21. There are many ways to see our LO Pro/Ams from different points of view, from inside them and what makes them tick, to participation, to the look of their appeal or lack-there-of from the "cities and towns people" when we all come to town. Living in Oswego personally and witnessing each and every year of an event called harbor fest will exaggerate many opinions, something like this can have much appeal to many With that in mind our Pro/Ams also offer up some benefits to all, on a smaller level obviously because we are talking only a percentage of people in comparison Ray it is a very good idea IMO to keep this awareness out there that all of us should be concerned with, especially as I have noted before "during times like these" Paul gave some good advice on how to handle a future sponsor, to handle that potential is often key so it is not lost, those directly related and the most informed should be where that chance is directed Rod, on our end to make that contact look attractive to a potential sponsor you can usually offer some of your personal experiences concerned/with, then point them in the right direction for options. Our personal experiences will usually be better accepted and honored. My experiences (due to my business interests and my participation) often deal with more portions of different attitudes than that of a single everyday competitor, or that of a single towns person, or a coordination member. Input never, and I mean never (year round) stops flowing concerned with my strong interests mentioned around these Pro/Am's. As strong as that interest is will most times effect personal opinions. Our loved Pro/Am's have much experience within them, we are in good hands I feel, my original drive for closing communication for "Oswego first" was heavily influenced by Oswego participation and the word on the street, both past and present. I still feel in my heart our Oswego event would be better off under a closed communication enviroment. In the last week alone I probably have a good 40+ hours into talks, chats and E Mails with mostly members to our Pro/Am's. I learned a lot from coordination and received some great advice from sources outside coordination. With this said we will move on and continue to punch forward. The Pro/Am's do need much of our constant feedback, especially when this feedback is felt in the same light as others. Often I think about the mentioned bass circuits and the monies paid, I guess they may have either done more homework then us or caught a better break here and there, maybe our time is yet to come because we obviously have some very strong passions flowing into them !!! My best piece of advice to participants involved with our events, who are in hopes of improving the betterment of our Pro/Am's, is to show your satisfaction to anyone around our scene. If I was a greenhorn, a big lake angler who just didn't compete, or any kind of potential future participant to our Pro/Am's I would be looking for guidance and satisfaction coming from its players. Each of us can agree we can not satisfy all involved, there are many personal opinions to cater to, but if there seems to be any sort of negative ado circulating around "our scene", that sell will certainly be harder to achieve at that point. It took me time to realize this during my "no com. campaign" Tom
  22. I do feel the Pro/Am's are a great thing, can not deny, many passions are ran high towards them I only want the best for them and that bottom line is shared by many I want to be able to fish them forever, hopefully all players feel the same way Internet info is a great asset, this input works its way around to many, even those who do not partake in it, constant awareness is always needed The luxury of having a high interest involved with these events from all sides comes a bit harder these days, the active targeted crowd has to choose much of their fishing days in our present times. All interest from this topic has had its effects, hopefully much more good than bad, one goal was only to bring awareness We can not take certain things for granted and constantly get away with them, I refer to many things with this comment The best we can make these events should be the ultimate goal Tom
  23. It's a lot of work keeping my little elves busy !!!! Kids now days think they're suppose to just come home from school and play with their toys and do homework Geesh Tom
