if you need a new place to try i recommend maxwell creek.there are lots of area for northerns and as soon as it rains it will have salmon and steelies along with northerns.ive caught 3 large[36+]northerns from there tossin spinners for steelies.tuff to beat a36in fish with 6lb test line with a noodle rod.and if you would like i be more than happy to show a rook how to icefish.pm me and let me know;and so long 4 now;john

those eyes look like they eat well,same story as a previous post always meanin to go up there but unless your shown the ropes once its tough fishing,not to mention a little expensive.ive tried what your doin a half dozen times ,but without the planer boards,usin dipsy divers instead,should i invest in planner boards??congrats and so long 4 now.john

fished from 6am till 1130 am.jigged the weeds nothin,started trollin in 24fow out to 42fow,marked an amazin amount of bait!!never seen so much in 40fow.the smallmouths were literally jumpin out of the water chasin minnows in 41fow.marked lots of arches but caught no eyes .for the day it was 2 smallmouths a perch and a large 13in whit perch.not sure if the eyes were there or not but the bait clouds were crazy.put the walleye stuff away today goin to catch some perch till bow season opens and so long 4 now;

those eyes may be stagin to head to BOQ when you kept the small ones what was in there bellires??and so long 4 now;john

was the 1st one on the water fished through the rain storm and ended up with 1 perch for 5hrs of fishing,trolled around the northern points from 45-75 fow.marked lots of bait and arches just no takers.decide to try deep weed edges and no luck there either.may be my last hurrah trin to figure out a day time bite on owasco.and so long 4 now;john

you could fish on the river in weedsport ,plenty of area to fish.where the river is @devany[rt34] or at bonta bridge rd.or howland island.

i met a fisherman at the launch who got 4 eyes and some jumbo perch.was tight lipped on what he was usin,but we where fishin the same depth.its either oneida again saturday or mabey otisco,need to be off the water early to see the 2008 version of the s.u orange!! and so long 4 now

ON THE WATER BEFORE 6AM FISHED TO 1130,0 FISH DRIFED AND TROLLED FROM BOUY 125 TO 119.45 TO 32 FOW.MARKED lots of bait and a few fish but no takers.was usin worm harness and rapalas.even tried a little shallow18=12 fow .zip.i got to spend the day on the water which is always better than work,and so long 4 now;john

8p-10p ;fished in front of martin point between35-40 fow marked lots of arches just no takers.the lightin and rain put a quick end to the evenin though.lots of water fleas too!!also cayuga county sherrifs where @the launch last nite checkin boats,they called it quits the same time i did.they didnt like the lighting either.and so long 4 now;john

fished from 6p to 930p.no eyes but the river is full of debris and is at flood stage and was still rising!!.lots of trees and floatables;and so long 4 now;john

got on the water a little after 8pm fished till 12am.1 smallmouth no eyes,i tried jiggin the hump on the west side,trolled both east and west sides from 12-35 fow,marked lots of fish in shallow but couldnt find what they wanted.after 9 ;30 no one else was fishing !!had the whole north end of the lake to myself,guess now i know why.and so long 4 now;john

you bosco but my dog and kids think i should be up and at em by 7am most days and since im up at 5 am every work day trin to pull a 23 hr day is gettin tougher!!although friday i may try to hit owasco at dusk and fish till i cant my eyes open anymore[midnite if im lucky]

mosquito point is in port byron.as for cross lake i spent over 100hrs the previous 2 yrs trin to figure out the eyes,no luck.ive caught the eyes in the state ditch from may till the end of june then ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.i know that the nite bite happens at mays point and mosquito point,im just to boneheaded to not stop trin durin the day.as for tigers ive never caught any monsters out of cross lake but the people i used to work with at bps swear the north end is where its at.i caught 1 last year @cross lake marine that was over 30in and that was it!!with gas prices the way they are im not goin all over the state anymore,fish close to home and figure the local fishery out.mabey if we get a few more members sharin info we could help each other out.offers??hints???and so long 4 now;john

tried trollin and jiggin for some eyes around mosquito point,landed 1 small northern and nothing else,marked quite a few fish but they were not interested,anybody else try ??

go to fish hawk.net,[a canadian fish page]http://www.fish-hawk.net/Map_project/maps/Big%20Gull-FH.gif]look for maps ,then big gull lake.g5-g6.on the map is where you can find big island and great walleye water,f5 is where you will find the clorex bottles ,great multi species area.catch the eyes with worms on the bottom,either black jigs or bottom bouncers with dixies.for pike fish the deep weed lines with your fav, pike lure,and green slimey bass will hit anything that moves!!hope it helps and so long 4 now;john

try in north of big island or on the southside of big island in 32 fow.also there is a sunken island mid lake with 2 clorex bottles markin the spot very shallow but on the east side it drops fast and the eyes should be there.west of the bottles it drops more slowly perfect for green slimey bass,for pike try the coves and bays south of big island.hope this helps .also beware not all sunken islands are marked be careful!!and so long 4 now;john

why would you stop @gander for bait??it is a big box store.of course their customer service sucks they make 7.50hr.dont get me wrong i like gander and bps but not for bait .go to mickeys or spankys or thousand island bait shop or handys or the joint in b-ville if you need bait.the big box store are there to catch fisherman not fish,and so long 4 now;john

i have fair amount of luck@nite too but they've got to feed durin the day too!!i cant get it through my thick head that these eyes wont bite durin the day!!
