on the water jiggin by 5:45 out in 30 fow @shack shoals,caught 1 eye spent the next 7 hours trin to find the rest of his family and failed miserably,caught 1 sheeps head and had 1 more bite,tried from 12 to 40 fow,where did the land shark find the fish???i was in my buddy's mirror craft today,it was a strange day on the lake too.first nice drift then no wind,still better than work,and so long4 now;john

fished fron 6am till noon,1 lake trout no eyes markin lots of bait in 40-50 fow ,no takers moved in between 30 -40 fow more bait clouds but still no eyes,fished from the pump house down to dutch hollow,gettin a little discouragin but still better than work!!and so long 4 now;john

i was there the week after memorial day and the fishin was terrible.looks like most of the pixs were in the 3 bay area??the pix of your son with the islands in the east is where my fishing partners caught most of there fish.the pixs of your partner is where i crushed them 2 yrs ago with blade baits!!where the bugs out yet??we had none when we visited,and so long 4 now;john

lookin for more eyes caught more lakers.3 trollin and 1 hit a bucktail jig in 32fow.also caught 2 nice perch on a dixie spinner,can someone tell me why the lake trout smell so bad?????is it their diet??when i catch eyes @nite they dont have the odor of a laker,so i tend to believe its not what they are eatin,walleyes and lakers are feedin on the same forage base??

launch @fremacs head due north stop in 32fow troll east till your half way between larkin and wilson points,just before you get to larkin point there is a 42fow.troll that hole!!i normally have my best luck with dixie spinner on a botton bouncer.and so long 4 now;john

tried this mornin to find some eyes trollin in 27-37 fow.no luck but did calch 6lakers and 1 perch,saw lots of bait on my lawrance but either the lakers where more aggressive or the eyes were not interested.does anyone want to give the secret out on how to catch eyes in the daytime on owasco???i can consistantly limit out on oneida,i try the same techniques on owasco and nothin.trollin,jiggin,3way with a dixie,nothin seems to work.i can catch them at night but not durin the day,what gives.with fuel approachin 4.25$ a ride out to oneida is gettin a little expensive [50$]

ive been in sickbay this weekend so no fish for me,but in 9 short days ill be in canada fishin for eyes!!annual trip to big gull lake,no trophy's but there are eaters to be caught ,cleaned,and consumed!!feelin better all ready;and so long 4 now;john

fished from 9pm till midnite.no eyes,1 large drum.only saw 2 fish caught from 4 other boats.and so long 4 now;john

got on the water by 9pm had my 1st eye by 9:05caught 2 keepers[under 22in]tossed back 1 9lb fish lost one more at the boat .1 smallie and 1 drum.all in less than 3 hrs.took my dog[capt jack sparrow is the dog 's name]for the 1st time.dont think jack had a good time!!the fish all came on green thunderstixs.and so long 4 now;

got on the water @6am fished till 11am 3 eyes 1 perch,eyes caught on black jig with a crawler,perch took a red dixie spinner.all fished cauhgt between 20-24 fow.very windy had to use a drift sox to slow down and still was to fast for my tastes.marked lots of fsh but just 4 strikes and caught everyone[yea]very few boats out of lakeport!!if weather permits goin to try oswego on sunday for some 10lbers.and so long 4 now;john

6am in lakeport bay.i can remember when i was a boy you couldnt count the boats in lakeport.now two hands are plenty.exspecially with the price of fuel im sure it will put a damper on the boats,brewerton and sylvan beach will be crazy.and so long 4now;john

caught my limit on perch this mornin.had to catch 150 to keep 50 put what a day 8 fow and the action was non stop.started with minnows and end up doin better with a perch eye.the fish were rather small but the 50 were keepers

usin 2 poles so you can have a gar;1pole has a 3way2oz of lead on the dropper than a j11 rap with the tail treble removed,tie 6ft of line to the tail than your dixie -worm.on the other poler un a three way with 3oz of lead on the drop and a j5-7 rap.you cover both food groups and its easy enough to switch when the fish tell you what they want.if you launch @fremacshead towards larkin and troll out till you find the 40fow hole.go around the hole until you find the eyes.if you need company to smoke a gar eme.i grew up in lakeport and would enjoy fishin with yea.and so long 4 now;john

sunrise to noon,2 perch in 24 fow @sylvan beach.off to boq next weekend for some eyes.and so long 4 now;john[also marion manor is closed for the season the only place to get bait on the south side is in lakeport next to canasaraga creek!!]

my bait there @the point,i got mine at handy's in auburn.their minnows come in bass ,perch and pike size.hope this helps and so long 4 now;john

1st one on blind sodus today.4 inches of black ice on the west side and lots of dink percch.drilled holes from 8 to 20 fow.same results,dinks;and so long 4 now;john

no safe ice on the pond @fair haven;tried the 1st thing this morn,didnt make it out 10yds and my spud went through;and so long 4 now;john

tried findin some crappies this mornin.skim ice @the locks,2 hrs of drownin minnows got me zero fish,but it was a gorgous sunrise;and so long 4 now;john

fished from 7am till 11.no keeper perch but all the dinks you can catch.saw 1 gentlemen with a dozen fish other than that not much to report.the ice was 6-8 in thick and disappering!!and so long 4 now;john

fished from 7am till 1230 5 fow to 16;LOTS of dinks for 10 keeper perch.lost something huge,mabey a sheepshead,1st one on the ice this mornin ;anywhere from 3 to 5 in of ice.nobody that i saw did much.and so long 4 now;john

not much SAFE ice around,most of the smallers bays the shore ice is not good!!!!finallyfound a spot to dull my blades on the auger.4hrs of fishin 7 keepin perch threw 3 crappies back and a couple of small sunnies.fish were bittin mighty light.perfect day on the ice,sunny no wind,so much better than work;and so long for now;john
