Tim- thanks again for a great time. I do not get up to the lake as often as I would like but this weekend was unbelievable!! Guys this is the time to get to the lake the fish are here!! Saturday my son gave me a half day trip on the Nomad out of Mike's Marina, left the dock at 5:30 am and hits came 80 FOW down 70' down went 6 for 7 and back at the dock by 10:00 am. This trip was special to me because it was a birthday present from my son. Boy do times change I was always booking trips for him and I. Anyway Saturday was all white on white with most fish coming on the north troll. Sunday with Tim was a great time Tim's got a ride that makes me jealous!! That is one sweet boat and you and Tom are super Sunday was a constent pick through out the day and Tim was the only one of us to limit out. He handles those fish like a pro!! Tim - "It's in the hole" !! Thanks again Tim I will try to post some of my pics soon I have dial up internet so slow But I will work on it. Great time Great to meet you and Tom.

I have a 1987 200hp Johnson 2-strokeand when I started it this year it started right up but idled high and smoked more than normal exhaust, runs rough when throttled up too. Does anyone have any suggestions? I live in southern Vermont and about an hour trip to have work done so if I can do it myself it helps. Thanks PJ

Well the time is nearly here and myself and my family have rented a cottage on the lake. We are going to be right next to Selkirk Shores state park. I have never fished the big lake with my own boat and we are giving it a try next week. I have the cottage from 8/12/07-8/19/07 and will have a private dock on the salmon river. Now the question where do I began to fish. I have 2 scotty downriggers and 2 dipsy rod with wire. I have been told by some that live near me to head to 200fow and set about 80 to 90 ft. down and out 300 ft. with #1 dipsy set on number 2 anything green or white but make sure you have a hammer fly out. Is this good advise or do you guys that fish this area have something different? My boat is called Fish Craft so if anyone is up that way I would love to meet you and talk about fishing. I am looking to buy a small camp or trailor in a campground on or near Lake Ontario in the Fair Haven to Palaski area. Gas prices are killer this year and would like a place to leave boat out of the water. Would like to keep price under 20000.00. Would like to be near a launch. PJ

Hi everyone, I have been a forum member for a few months now and I would like to say Hi. My boat is called Fish Craft it is a 1982 chris craft. I will be going to the lake in august for a week and would like to go more this year however just found a dead piston on number 4 cyl. in process of fixing. I live in southern Vermont and love lake Ontario would live closer if it were up to me maybe someday. Any way looking foward to meeting everyone on the lake. PJ

I have a question on a cottage we are renting the third week in August. It is the Golden Fish cottage lake veiw. They have a private dock and the cottage looks over the lake $700.00 for the week. Have any of you heard or stayed here? Seems to be a good deal it is in Mexico with dock in the river. Owner's name is Jack Marsh. Any info would be welcomed.

Jobsite, I am also using wire setups for the first time and have okuma magd 30 DX reels. I have heard about drag problems with these reels but only after I purchased I love these reels for downriggers. I have puchased 2 Bert's custom rod holders and 2 17" track system all on ebay and all new for about half the price of Cabellas. Also bought 1000' of Malin 7 strand on ebay for $24.00 a spool. I have to try and find deals as bugets are tight so I buy a lot on ebay. Good luck PJ Weber

Hi guys, looking to get started using dipsy divers this year it will be my first year with my own boat on Lake Ontario. I have gone on charters and saw they used wire line at 275' out to get down 75'. This depth seemed to produce fish in august quite well. I have purchased 2 10' eagle claw diver rods with okuma reels that came loaded with braided line. Now question is what size dipsy will I need to get down 75' and what rod holders should I get without going broke? PJ

I bought a 21' chris craft scorpion with a 200hp johnson (1984) with VRO which was disconnected and mix the oil. Ran on lake Champlain without any problems. Runs very smooth. PJ

Has anyone used these and have you noticed any advantage? I have seen them online for about $70.00 and don't want to spend that much unless they produce. Happy New Year PJ

Hi guys my name is pj weber I live in Vt. and I am new to this board. I have a 21' chris craft scorpion and I am hoping to get to lake 4 or 5 times a year. I have had a couple of charters out of sodus and fished from the jetties at Fair Haven and love it. I am currently bidding on 4 downrigger combos and 2 dipsy combos. Rods are eagle claw and reels okuma magda 30. Is this an all right set up to start? thanks for thoughts and hope to add info this summer. PJ
