Mark, I learned the hard way about releases. I'm sure that the ten ft piece of mono will work. I have my copper albrighted right to my power pro. What I do now is half hitch a rubber band on the power pro, then I put the band into a pinch pad release and send it out on the otter boat. The band is kind of a snubber when a king hammers the rig. Good luck

The atomic torpedos are nice. The sharks tend to spin as you let the rigger down.

Going to give one a try this year. I will post a product review. It should be interesting to see where my dipsies and copper are running....

I also have a twin screw baha....to mirror screamers comments, a twin is a must. Just remember that anything could happen like engine breakdown, hanging a line in the prop. Docking with a twin screw is a relatively easy....no steering wheel, just use the shifters and drive her like a tank. I will never own a boat without two main engines...good luck

Get ready for at least 5.75 a gallon at the marinas.......I'd like to slap the idiots who do all the "speculation" to set the prices. Those oil companies are, again, going to make billions..... Looks like my trips off shore to the fence are going to be few and far between.....

Yup....they can get your left arm a little. I don't think it's a big deal though. The fast gears on the 30s are sweet for taking up the slack on slide cheater bites. Not to mention if you put wire on them for your dipsey diver rigs. The drags are real smooth also. IMO they blow tekotas away.
I guess they could put the counter in a better place, however I think you made a great investment.

Locally.....I would try streeter on 104 in Williamson. He does awesome fish.
Tri state taxidermy in PA also. Paul is very talented.

Otter boats are sweet. A little trick to running copper off them is using a double keel on them. They will pull like hell and handle really rough water. Last year We ran them in 3-4 fters. No problems.

Come on Scott......that's not why your wrist is taking a beating...
You can get a saltist without a line counter. Using ten colors or a 300 copper, you really don't need a line counter. I have been using the saltist reels and I love the high speed gears. I may try Okuma reels this year for my coppers. They also have high speed gears in their bigger reels. Good luck with your decision.

Awsome pics......redheads are some of the best eating divers....next to cans. Hopefully with the apparent population increase, the Feds will allow us to shoot a couple more next year. It still amaizes me the canadians can shoot 4 of either redheads or cans and we can only take 2RH and 1 can.....thanks again for posting....

Rusty....any eel grass around? Most all divers like it. When food is limited, divers will work on zebras. We also pounded the red heads and canvasbacks this year. I did notice in the flocks of cans, there were 3 to 1 drake to hen ratio. Take some good photos.....love them divers!
