Deans Cove is open, but extremely low. I would estimate 4.5 feet low. When i launched I actually pushed a wall of mud/leaves and made a dam and couldn't get the boat off the trailer. It went the second try. One needs to trim the lower unit until they get out of the lagoon. And it caused my water intake to clog. i had to raise the motor and clear the screen. To add insult to injury, my fishfinder wasn't working so we came back in after 2 hours. I thought the transducer might have been damaged when i launched. After reloading the boat, I figured it out....my transducer cable had come loose from the back of the head unit. Back out we went, but fishing was poor today. One of those days.....

My Tundra is 2019. But here is an excerpt from the 2026 Toyota owners manual. If the gross trailer weight is over 5000 lb. (2200 kg), a weight dis- tributing hitch with sufficient capacity is required Hillbilly, Did you mean a Ford twin turbo was no good for towing??????
-
Yes, and surge breaks and torsion bars won't work together either......just baffles me why they list that edict in the manual. I've asked two salesman, and all i got was silence. I'll just continue to ignore it.
-
Possibly, but why wouldn't they say that in the owner's manual? My Tundra Manual is pretty simple, in that it says a weight distribution hitch is required above 5000lbs. GM and Ram have the exact same language.
-
My Toyota pulls just fine....but this weight distribution hitch thing confuses me. The 3/4 ton say the exact same thing in their owners manual.
-
Looking at new tucks and reviewing towing capacity. Most brands state in their user's manual that a weight distributing hitch is required for trailers weighing more than 5000lbs. I've never seen a weight distributing tongue on a boat trailer. I've been pulling an 8500 lb boat/trailer for 11 years with a half-ton, and no weight distributing hitch. l'd like to know the logic behind this. Also, if I got in an accident while towing my boat would insurance say I'm not covered, because my set up didn't meet mfgs' recommendations?????

When I sold my last boat I learned that it was worth way more to me, than anyone else. I got about half of what I thought I could get. It was painful....

I think I have a couple. I'll check. -
Not fool proof, but turn the unit on and put the palm of your hand over the face of the transducer. You should feel a pulse on a regular interval. Maybe once a second.

Smokercraft Phantom 20x2 Walk Through Video
RodBuster replied to Yankee Troller's topic in Fishing Videos
Capt Rick, Great video. I see on the side of the boat it says "21X2". Meanwhile the website calls the boat a 20X2. Is this a one off? -
Could I get a Cayuga water condition report
RodBuster replied to RodBuster's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Txs.. launched today out of deans cove. Greenish tint. Not much debris. Jigging was slow.. I'm guessing the colored water was part of the problem. I wonder if the algae bloom is emerging -

2005 Crestline Sport Angler 1650 fuses?
RodBuster replied to Never Ends's topic in Open Lake Discussion
If it's like my 2007 navigator it has a fuse at the battery and then circuit breakers at the console, visible next to the switch bank -
I have had little success getting Cisco to respond to my requests for some repair parts. Anyone have a good resource for parts or a contact name/number?
