  1. the second keel has 1/2 the lead as the original keel...when you mount it, drill a new hole for one of the bolts or the keels will not be parallel....... I got mine from Fat Nancy's...in stock Joe

  3. Reels; The Daiwa Accudepth PLUS is a good, reasonably priced option. I have these that are on thier 4th year, still work like new..I use the 57 size and load it up with 400 yds of 20# Big Game. when the fleas show up I add 200 feet of 30# pink Ande on top Rods; cant do wrong with Shimano TDR or the Daiwa Heartland, I like the 1 piece 7 ftrs. both are priced around $25 good Luck, Joe

  8. This will be the third season I've used 7' Shimano TDR rods for the Dipseys. They are one piece in MH power. I Added the Torpedo roller tips, Twili Tips are another option. The action is right, they hold up well and are inexpensive (around $25)...model # TDR70MHB I've used Fish Doctors 7' roller rods, they are VERY nice rods, well made with rollers that don't let the wire bind in the frames. Before I spent the bucks, I was looking to see if there was a preferance one way or another Joe
  11. I've read posts about the color of dipsey wire and had some capt's tell me they believe a darker color wire was more productive than a bright wire............. It's time to change my rigger cable (too many "trim backs" ) and I was wondering if anyone had thoughts about a dark colored cable vs a bright cable thanks, Joe (Gotaway)

  13. I've used Tite Loks for a bunch of years and like them...but not for Dipseys.......I have Tite Lok triple trees but replaced one of the rod holders with a Berts ratcheting holder for dipsey use.......the trees go into a track... easy on..easy off Joe

  16. stevo, fishin was very good...we followed the birds and were able to stay on the fish most of the time...they started feeding on alewives, several browns and a coho had alewifes hanging out of thier mouths (along with a spoon) The 17's were new last year, still look new.......sorry I don't have any need of the Penn Joe
  17. the Okuma 30's are CN 30 L, I have two... the drags are smooth and clickers are loud.... the side covers are a little faded, the chrome is all good with no pitting...I used them for short sections of lead core (3 color and a 4 color)...they didn't get used much the price is $60 for the pair plus shipping or you can pick them up Joe

  19. I used the 15# hiVis yellow last year on a "propwash" rig. It is stiff but it held up well..I'm trying the same thing in 10# this year for planer board lines...keeping my fingers crossed Joe
