Just make sure you scuff the back of the board before attaching and the 5200 is fully cured before launching.

Heating the board with a propane torch till it is glazed is another way to give an adhesive better grip.

I personally feel the importance of having a VHF on board, let alone knowing how it use it correctly...kind of went out the window when they stopped issuing Radio Telephone Licenses with call signs. I still have mine laminated in my rig. I can't remember the last time I actually used the call sign. If I did, I bet the USCG would have no clue what I was saying.

Think you guys are bein a little harsh...maybe offer the guy a new contact or point him in the right direction...instead of actin like a bully. Perfect example of why guys are turned off to ask questions or even semi intimidated to say anything at all....maybe you should think about turning that vhf back on after 5 years....it might save your life or somebody else's some day !! Tight lines

The OP asked a legitimate question and I thought Ski's reply was legitimate as well. Then the OP came back with some attitude. As far as not turning on the VHF in 5 years...I meant for only making inquiries concerning fishing or idle chit chat.

I have contacts. Thanks. Guess you have never been on Erie before then
And ...Olcott isn't Erie. I stopped turning on the VHF about 5 years ago.

Keep in mind...This launch was redesigned and elevated because the the recent years of high water. Now the water is 2 ft lower than normal and you will have to back in much farther.

Who manufactured the pump? I would start there.

Another Garmin user. 93 UHD Sv Gt 54 transducer. Love the unit not thrilled with the transducer frequency for trolling.

Sounds like the old ESLO days.

I've always been able to get by with finding speed by listening for the Downrigger cable hum and looking for bubbles off the cable.

Back at it again today. Same area with more traffic and less action. Beauty of a day with flat water. Probably too flat!
Decided around 11to troll back towards the Genny and call it a day when a rigger 40/100 fired. Picked up a dark brown looking like it was pre-spawn season with a hook jaw. Never seen one in the spring, before.

Place a reliable stand alone charger on the battery in question for a 24hr period. Not a trickle charger! 10 amp is good.. Then check the voltage drop under load. Better yet, remove the batt and have it tested.

Not real familiar with that area. If it's possible...Handle the payment and paperwork electronically. Have the dealer have the boat in the water. Go up with a trailer and a buddy with his boat. Throw a rope and tow it back. Maybe you can get a local up there to bring it over.

Not a big fan of mono for a diver. Just too much stretch. Much prefer braid for another non-wire diver. And again, no need for a twilli. Maybe making up a rigger/diver rod with braid on a LC?
