I have an evinrude from the eighties and the fluid in the trim and tilt looks like dextron ATF. Is that common and can I refill it with ATF? Thanks, Chris

Tripleduece50 and I hit the south end and boated 9 landlocks. All riggers and no takers on flasher/fly. Must be lakers are spawning? Water temp was 54 on surface. Green dolphin spoon was hot. I have to say that the new life preserver law stinks. I need to buy a nice and comfortable one I guess.

My boat has a bimini top and has the zip on vinyl side windows. When I bought the boat the previous owner had some type of cloth he kept between them when he rolled them up and put in their storage bag. The windows are probably 10 years old and still are clear as new. Do they make a special material for this?

Once stocked aggressively in NY, their numbers have since dwindled and populations are dependent on small pockets of wild breeding. their deep red colors, and some say their excellent taste, is due to their plankton diet. I am about to replace my steering cable and have been thinking about going with a teleflex NFB system. I've read that it takes a little bit more effort to get the wheel moving initially but that it moves freely after that. People say that its a little annoying while docking or turning frequently. Does anybody have one and an opinion? Thanks, Chris

Good choice on a place to get married. My wife and I were married in negril in june a few years ago. We came home and were extremely depressed for a month or so. The weather was awesome even though it rained almost every day for about a half hour around 2pm then it went right back to sunny. About an hour before dark the starfish would uncover themselves and were everywhere. People would save bread from dinner and take out into the water and fish would show up. Make sure you buy some of those disposable underwater cameras. Have a great time and congrats.

How about adding a livewell? You can fill it up while trolling and pump it out when you need to get on plane. 25 gal would be 200lbs.

John, Your dipsies will work great. Pick up a few different shades of green spindoctor flashers and some green flies and keep checking the reports for the depths that are working. Seneca marine in watkins glen can hook you up with what you need. Alot of people do jig for lakers...I really cant comment on it though. I tend to get pretty bored after a few minutes.

Did you see there is one with the 6 older big jon electric riggers in the for sale section. I dont know what you want to spend but there are always the same two sellers on ebay..I bought a pair of new swivel bases a month ago for $110 and it included shipping. Chris

I've heard of people running seth green riggs from a jug. I believe they get their spoons out and down then attach a jug to distance that set from the boat. They then can run another rig without any tangles. Never done it just heard about it.

Last year I picked up a couple accudepth 47 reels and firewolf rod combos at bass pro for $59 and spooled them up with 65lb powerpro. There was only one time I had a problem with fleas on cayuga and everything worked allright I just had a big gob build up on my last eyelet and had to work it back and forth a couple times to saw through it. That was the only time I had trouble though. The drags have held up..its only been a season though and used on weekends on the fingerlakes. With that bieng said I have used wire dipseys on other peoples boats and really like how easy you can trip the dipsey when you want to reel it in. I know with the ol' seth green rig you must have at least one good rod holder. A friend tried to put a dipsey rod in a plastic rod holder that had adjustable positions. He said is went snap..snap..snap until the rod was facing straight towards the back of the boat.

Has anyone heard if they are doing the fleamarket or a date for it? I think its normally in the first couple weeks of march.

Fireplug, It hit a small michigan stinger called rays razberry dolphin. We cought a few lakers off this also.
