In Chaumont bay was like 59-60 degrees

Fished sat am - picked up one ( bro-in law first eye! )then waves kicked up. Husky jerk Sunday am-Went out in morning tried to get to were we wanted to be, waves were pretty big, made a couple passes nothing. back in for breakfast! Sunday pm-My brother just pickup his new boat. So out to break it in. I said what going to do when that 18 lb sheephead will be the first fish!" Lol ( well i jinx myself )The new smell.. they must of loved it. He Limited out before dark. My boat drop 2 and managed 1. Monday morning went out for a quick trip pick up 2. No one lure was crazy, rapalas, reef runners, smithwicks mix of everything.

Well took a weekend off from Chaumont bay. Decide to go out on Erie (see what temps were. 58) Lots of boats between smokes and hamburg. We set up in 12 fow, had 2 first pass, We kept picking one up every pass or so. Ended with a 2 man limit. Rain held off made a nice night. A couple of times go to net one and had others follow it right to boat. Released some 15 inches. One nice bass! Wish I could get a night program like this up in Chaumont! . Joel

Fished Friday- two fish. Deep bomber got a pike, husky jerk -walleye Fished Sat fished 11 hrs, never moved a rod till 20 min before dark Tons of time on water. Only 3 fish..ouch! Friday temp on top 62 on sat after the little chop in morning 58 Only see one other caught guy said he got it in BrB. Only good news is sat night finally start marking bait and some hooks that's when we pic the one up. Made a couple circles Thur there but no other hits. Some guys say it hasn't started others told me its over?? The weather was hot and water flat but bitting could have been way better. Spoiled after last year!

Might try this weekend and def. Memorial day weekend. I get anything going I will let u know.

Fished sat morning pick up 2 eyes. Sunday evening never moved a rod. Had a tons of marks in deep water but would not hit anything. Weather was great. And good to be on the water. Hoping it will get better!

Walking in Sunday morning could hear the chasing in the beech nut leaves. Walking across woods could hear them running follow by soft grunts. So I just stop and put the stand up. About 8 am seen a doe sneak into the thicket. I Keep doing some soft grunts, About 8:45 all of a sudden heard what I thought was a bulldozer coming Thur the thick stuff. AS I pick up my bow I could see tines coming out of brush. As he step into my opening at 22 yards connected my muzzy into him. As he ran seen my lighted up nock in him.I knew it was a low shot but was buried right up to fleches. As i was trying to text my buddy I could not keep from shaking. With my buddys help he got me to wait 2 1/2 hrs. Thought it was a heart shot but waited. We had all day and did not want to push him. We went back in found him 70 yards from shot. Hit bottom of heart. Took him to taxidermist, but did not score him yet. 17 3/4 speard, with hide gutted and head weight was 184 on my scale. Butcher him yesterday ended with 70lbs of meat! I was able to get out this weekend. Hunted sat morning, afternoon, sunday morning. Hard hunting lots of guys out and not alot of fields to pick from. Got some shooting!! I tried making goose snack sticks. They are not the greatest. I used high mountain snack kit and smoked them with apple wood ( electric smoker). First time trying this. Anybody have a recipe or tips on making these? Or any other recipes? Got some jerky going but won't be done till tomorrow. Hoping to getting back out soon. Joel

I'm in Niagara county. Ive Heard some shooting, none for me yet. Last Sunday seen good number of birds flying but kept spooking from are blinds? The canal and golf courses are loaded. Everywhere u can't hunt lol. Hoping sat morning will be good!
