    black river

Went up for the weekend. Fish black river Friday, Did a few walleyes, all right below keeper size expect one. Worm work best. Got into a school of huge crappies, Pick away at them for a while. Fish chamount bay sat, lots of perch, but smaller than they been. Out by the green bouy, Marked lots of long hooks, Want to go back out sunday but weather suck, some good bait in 50 fow too. seen some boats out there trolling any luck?? wife with an eye!!
  2. Neat fish!!! I head of perch having a blue tint in them around herderson harbor. Nerver seeen one. Is that a compound bow in the pic????
  3. These have been in the basement collecting dust.. 1 okuma 30d line counter-$30 1-eagle claw 8' 6 starfire, This rod has the rollers on it. I put a twillie tip on the end of it.(see pic)-$25 Joel 716- 434-9339 this are located in lockport ny
  4. Just got back for chaumount bay. Bass are still one here or there, crayfish are your best bet. 25-35 fow. Perch were good, 50 fow towards lake side. perch minnows ( hardware store got a good price on them) I heard walleyes out by galloo did not try myself. Spent a day on black river. Pick thur 15 small eyes all 1 inch shy of a keeper, end up with two keepers. Worm work best. Wish i could get back up there!! A couple nice size pike. Good luck
  5. Going to take some vacation time, Plan on Fishing around three mile bay, going to go for perch to salmon anything that bites! Like to hit butterfield or red lake one day, indian river, maybe St lawerance depending on boat traffic. Anyone been up that way fishing?
  6. A quick fight always helps, have the camera and needle nose ready to go. Don't touch the gills if its going back in the lake, or try to hold the gill plate. Tharshing around in the boat is not good either. One hand under the belly, one around the tail, off the side of the boat torpedoing head first about a 45 degree angle. This i would say works about 95 percent of the time. Great with lakers, kings even on warm days. This has worked well over the years, If the fish is bleeding from the gills its probably to late. (happens alot on wire or leadcore with weight) Gill it put it on ice and give it to some one at the cleaning station if it is legal size. Someone might apperciate it. If is hot out and the water is warm on top, and leadcore is doing good.you may want to replace a downrigger (stacker) at that level with a long lead 20 lb test is alot better for the fish. Every one year old king or steelie could be 30 lbs plus fish in four years! just my two cents.
  7. http://buffalo.craigslist.org/for/1809745604.html my dad just put this on craiglist, would make a nice fishing camp along the lake....
  8. Decide to take the jet skies out today. We went out of golden hill. I never seen the water so gross. The seaweed chucks that are float are disgusting. (hope there seaweed) or to many rv sites up stream... i find this hard to believe its from the water being to low. Seen jet boats going out that were just losing steering from clogging up. Any body else see this? Any other little bays with this same problem? talk to one couple who said they were there last week and both got rashes from it??

Someone repair the one dock there, some new wood and some plastic bumpers, Hope they do the rest of them. The water is very low. Hope they bring it up before the derby. Some big boats might have a hard time.
