  1. Have this in the Walleye/Pike forum as well, but wondering about the annual run of the Walleye/Pike up the inlet of Conesus Lake. Any updates?
  2. Anybody got any updates? Seen some pictures from one individual and wondering if there are more moving in yet? They catching bullheads in the inlet?
  3. Fished it Friday 5/13 and Saturday 5/14. Water was way high as you can expect. Fishing was slow, but productive. Got a couple pike and one bass on shiners. Perch were biting off small minnows. Everything else was pretty slow though.
  4. Just some information, if anyone is looking at all for anything like this, but I was looking for a nice place to camp this summer, and of course, fishing had to be excellent in the area as well. So, I signed up for an annual membership (only way to camp there) for Gravel Ponds in Scottsville. The people are great, the camping is great, and their ponds are stocked with nice bass and panfish. A GREAT place to spend your summer weekends if looking for a nice place to camp and fish, especially if you have KIDS!
  5. Anyone done any fishing on Black Lake? Posted in panfish as well for the Crappie updates, but would love to target some pike and walleye as well. Thanks to anyone.
  6. Anyone been up to Black Lake and any advice? Going to McClear's Campground (never been there and not sure where exactly it is), but do have a boat to get around. Just looking to catch fish.
  7. Anybody been up there yet to see if they are running up the inlet to spawn?
  8. Opening day is the 7th, this year, correct?
  9. I know where you're referring to and I know about the drop offs. Over on the west side it goes deep just past the docks over there. But what to do when there?
  10. I've rented a boat from Mark's Leisure Time Marine on Friday. I've got family in town and promised one of them I'd take them fishing. It's a fishing boat I got, but no trolling motor, so casting the docks will be tough, but not impossible. Any other quick suggestions or updates? Will have to fish the South Side of the lake due to proximity to the marina.

  12. How is the fishing at Honeyoe? What to expect?
  13. Are there any places to rent boats on either lake? I hear a lot of good fishing on both.
  14. Thank you to the individual who sent me the private message. No-one else???
  15. I've fished Conesus hard in the early part of May and know how to catch the Pike pretty easy. Can anyone give me some advice on how to catch pike and bass on Conesus? Would really like to concentrate on shallower type water strategies as I'll be renting a boat w/no fish finder. So areas to concentrate and strategies? I'll be renting the boat around the 9th of July from Mark's Leisure Time and have family visiting, so would like to show them a good day on the lake. Thank you to whomever replies.
  16. I'm going to do the Conesus Lake routine again this year. I"ve had decent luck there every year, especially with the Pike. Walleye on the other hand, I've only caught one each year, but each of them were decent size, like 26" and 5-6lbs. I generally troll rapalas after dark as close to the shore as I can get and cast in between, but don't kill them by any means. Any suggestions for Walleye on Conuesus after dark is much, much, much appreciated. Good luck to everyone and also to the Turkey Hunters.
  17. I have a 4 year old and live in Avon. I know I've got Conesus to do some fishing, but the panfish are EXTREMELY small there. Any other areas any of you would suggest? How about the DEC pond up there in Avon? Anywhere else? I grew up on Silver and know it's great there as well.
  18. NO Waylander....They can't be done already????? Usually they don't make it up until it warms up like this. Is he correct - the spawn if over? Others?
  19. Anyone been to the inlet yet? Assuming they will be moving up the inlet any day if they haven't already.
  20. Waylander - See my report above. They were biting well on the South End off shiners real well.
  21. We did really well on Saturday...Did not get out on Sunday. Friday Night, I got a 24" eye on a very slow retrieve rapala about 10 yards from shore. Later that night I got a 32" Pike trolling and got him on the rod twitch back. Saturday they were nailing the shiners on the South end, but about 10-12 houses back from the inlet, NOT in by the inlet where everybody else likes to park on top of one another. Saturday Night went out and could not hook them, but very similar to the report I read above. They were very light bites when retrieving rapalas very, very slow and on the pause you got the bump, but couldn't hook. Hope this helps.
  22. Get there early for the launch....There will be boats there. On the jigging how do you do that? With what? Vertical or slow retrieve.
  23. Interesting on the Grub. I've never tried that before. What do you do, straight retrieve or do you jig it in? What color? Anyone else on that theory? When you all say "jigging for eyes" what do you mean? Vertical below boat? At night? How deep and what to jig? I'll share my opening night sucess (hopefully) on Saturday in case I get lucky to give some tips for Conesus.
  24. What and where will you be trying on Conesus? Last year I was trolling the EAST side from Leisure Time to the South End and the one only. Thinking I'm going to do the same and then down the west side, with stops every 10-15 minutes to cast softbaits into the shore.
  25. Not the best forecast for the weekend opener. I'm sure many of you have been around for opening weekends, where it was snowing, so not much to complain about. I'm ok with the weather Friday Night for the Walleye, but trying to anchor and throw a shiner out on Saturday for Pike may be very difficult at best. Good luck everyone. I'm hoping I get a couple this year trolling or casting Conesus this year at night. Last year only got 1, but it was a beauty....
