  1. Dale - We got out again yesterday. A few Browns in close in the AM and then drove out to 100' and back. Picked up one 8 lb. laker in 60 fow down 30' on a purple killer. Gregg- Was nice to get Neil out on the water and glad he got to get the big Brown. BTW- Pierless should be splashed this weekend. Thanks all - Pic of the Brown is attached. Hope everyone has a great Holiday.

Black and white stick and yellow killer stinger did the best.
  3. Nice to meet you Jim. We are a few doors down from Mike. Looking forward to seeing his boat sitting by the dock. How has he been feeling?

  5. Jackson and I are out right now and it has been pretty slow. We managed a 25 pound yesterday in 130 fow, but that was it. We got two small hits this morning, but both came undone. 100-140 fow seems to be the most productive. Beautiful day to be on the water [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  6. Hi Dave - Sorry to hear it was a slow day. Wasn't able to make it out this weekend, but am planning on fishing the rest of the week. Give me a shout when you get back next weekend. Andy
  7. The general rule I follow for lead lengths behind the ball is the 100' rule. If your down 20' then you have a lead length of 80'. If you are 80' down then your lead lenth is 20'. I found the rule here and it has worked pretty well as a general rule. Andy
  8. Dale Sounds very a nice night. Can't wait to get out there this weekend. Andy
  9. Dale, Screen looked good all morning between 150 and 200. Lots of fish between 60 and 100 down which I am assuming were steelheads, but only a few big marks beween 80 and 130 down that we could not get to go. Wire sat quiet all morning as both our hits came off the riggers. Man it was nice to have a flat morning on the lake. I was beginning to forget what that was like. Good luck tomorrow. Andy

Nice steelhead took a Green Mag NBK on the rigger down 80' over 180'.
  11. Wow. I only started fishing for trout and salmon a couple of years ago. I don’t fish the pro/ams, I just fish for fun with my family and friends. Pro/ams don’t sound like much fun after reading this thread. What I do know is that I buy Tom’s products because they help me catch fish and have fun. They take hits every time we go out and I cannot say that about any of the other products I have purchased. You have brought me and my family a whole bunch of smiles when those big fish hit the deck. Thanks for the great products Tom. I truly appreciate all of your hard work and passion. Andy
  12. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: JACS ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 06/26 and 06/27 Time on Water: 7-11am Weather/Temp: Sat. 70, Sun. warm, clouds then sun Wind Speed/Direction: Sat. light SW, Sun. light NE Waves: Sat. 1 foot, Sun. Calm Surface Temp: 61 Location: NW to NE or Port Bay LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 12 Total Boated: 8 Species Breakdown: Kings, Steelheads, Laker Hot Lure: Purple Black/Purple Chrome SD with a Purple Glow Fly Trolling Speed: 2.5-3.0 Down Speed: 1.7-2.2 Boat Depth: 200-220 Lure Depth: 110-120 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Went 3 for 3 on Saturday and 5 for 9 on Sunday. Highlights were a 23lb and two 14lb kings. All the bigger Kings came on the wire, 360’ back running a black/purple chrome SD with a purple glow fly. Also got fish on the wire, 330 back running a glow yellow tail SD with green glow fly. Riggers had not been too productive yet, so we switched over from lures to SDs and got some small kings, steelhead and even a small laker at 110’ down on a white/blue glow SD with blue glow fly and 120’ down on a black/green chrome SD with a green glow fly. Cheaters were pretty quiet this weekend. We ended the weekend by losing a screamer of the 360’ wire. Great weekend of fishing. Andy
  13. Thanks for the report Dale. Can't wait to get out there tomorrow. Andy
  14. Thank you Dale. We are out most Saturdays and Sundays. We scan most channels, so give us (JACS) a shout. Andy
  15. Dale - I rigged with 2 scotty downriggers and 2 dipsey pole holders to start with. I started with gimbal mounts for the riggers, but have hard mounted them since. The gimbals were very convenient, but had a tendency to pop out on rough waters. I have an old planer mast, but have not decided how I want to mount it yet. I think the best solution would be to mount the reels to each side of the top, but I don't know how well that would work with my bimini. Andy
  16. Hi Dale. We went to Trophy 2102 this year and it makes a huge difference from the little 16' startcraft we were fishing in last year. I do miss my little boat when we are kicking around in the bay, but man it is nice to have a bigger boat out in the lake. Andy

Nice to have the fish hitting. Can't wait to get back this weekend. Andy
  18. Thank you guys. This site is the best. Full of great people who love to fish and are willing to share information to help others. I appreciate the support. We are having a great time learning the new area and getting used to fishing in a bigger boat. Still not used to being dry and comfortable while fishing in the Lake
  19. We were out of Port Bay on Saturday and Sunday with no luck. Saturday we drove out NW to 200 and back and Sunday we stuck to a temp break and scum line around 70' with only one knock off. Tough fishing, but beautiful weekend to be out on the water. Back at it again next weekend. Andy
  20. We went out last Sunday morning and trolled out to 200' and back. We headed out on a NW troll and back SE. Ran riggers with all differnt kinds of spoons at 25' and 50' feet with cheaters and 2 dipsys with spin docs and flys out 100 and 200. No hits not much bait and only marked two fish, but it was a great day for a ride. Be back tomorrow to get at it again. We are new to the area, so kind of feeling our way around. Andy
  21. I just wanted to take a minute and say thanks to everyone who takes the time to share information on site. Great site and great people. Thanks for all your help, Andy.
