  4. I have owned over 100 boats in my quest to find the perfect boat for me, and rehabbing them and selling for a profit supported my habit. Only a few got named. There was the Sea Nymph GLS that I named "Pure Lure", the Starcraft Islander that I named "Rock n Troll", and then on one of those 14 hour days fishing Lake Ontario with two good friends who got into the beer pretty heavy that day, in between fish we began to come up with the most outrageous boat names that we could. Sky was the limit as far as the "creativity" went. One of those names appealed to me and was actually clean enough to use. Since that day every boat I have owned has been named "Throbbin Rods". There is one exception. I have for several years kept a 16 foot side console Sea Nymph that I use for waterfowl hunting and small water fishing. That one is named "Cast n Blast" Throbbin Rods

  15. Open up the case on the rigger and remove the little circuit card that controls the auto stop, and run the wiring straight to the switch. That way you can use any kind of line you want. Auto stop has never impressed me that much. I fish alone a lot or with one other guy. I just hit the up button and can easily get back to the rigger in time to keep it from running up to the pulley. Never had an issue in 25 years of down rigger fishing BTW, I have 4 of those Mag 10 of 1985 vintage, and the only thing I have ever done to them is switches. They appear to me to be bullet proof. Also, someone told me, that if you wrap a rubber band around the cable it sill stop the downrigger hum. Throbbin Rods
  16. Just buy some cheap pulleys at the hardware store and tie some parachute cord to the eye, run your downrigger cable through the pulley. Most you can run termination and all right through. I run these on all 4 of mine and they work slick Throbbin Rods
  17. Hi all, I am Throbbin Rods from NH, occasionally liberate enough funds from SWMBO to make it out to Ontario fishing. 1985 Grady White tournament 192, 140 Evinrude, 4 Cannon Mag 10's, planer boards and mast, Garmin 178C. I fish extensively for Landlocked salmon in NH and VT, get to NY when I can to catch "real" fish. I am currently unemployed but looking, Purchasing Manager / IT Project Manager by trade. I would rather fish than eat and I am hungry all of the time!! Throbbin Rods out
