Static build up could be coming from 1 of 2 spots. It could be in the tubes or it actually could be in the powder. There really is not a clean way to get rid of it since you would need to keep the static from building once you have packed the tubes anyway. in the offseason you can try to pack them in the anti static bags from electrical or computer gear or you can try to do the water/fabric softener solution wash after season and then leave them out to dry but I am not one to add more chemicals to the volume measured powder that you are using. The amount of powder that is stuck in the tube is not going to manipulate the performance of the sabot enough to worry about.

Thanks ... Your comment on the " amount of powder that is stuck in the tube" is what I was looking for!!!

Buy containers that you can put premeasured powdered in. The same gun i use 110 gr. With the after market breach plug that they recommend

I'm using the charge tubes from Blackhorn. They are plastic and when I go to pour the powder out some of the little pellets cling to the inside. Anyone else have this problem with the tubes your using?

Had an opportunity to hunt in Indiana, and though its not a NY buck thought i would share since the experience was awesome. Took this buck with my Mathews bow on the second to last day of archery in west central Indiana on a property I was living on while in grad school at Purdue University. Chased him around for two years and he finally gave me a chance on a late afternoon cold front. 25 yards and my search was over. Now headed back to NY cant wait for the thanksgiving gun hunt. Nothing better than filling the freezer!

Ok well long night last night we def had a little gut material. So we didnt want to jump him after that 150 yds. So back this morning with a dog to play it safe. And thank god we did. The coyotes jumped him out of his bed in the thick stuff and chassed him a total of 997yds. Across a hill. Literally only a speck of blood every 50 yds. Just hoping the dog was doing the right thing. And we found him half eaten... But that deer back tracked on its self. Went different ways than u would ever expect. 100% would not of found that deer! But. Happy to get him! Hit was about exzactly where I thought slightly quartering to me. Hit one lung huge slice from liver and stomach. Grossed him at 135! First buck ive shot on my new land so pretty happy!

EVERYBODY was telling me I had to do full body. I'm single and have a finished basement where all of my taxidermy resides, so I have the room (FOR NOW). Still very expensive for half body at $1600. But I will never get another one, most likely will never even see another one

Congratuations ...!!! Love the story too

I have had four guys ask me in the last two weeks if we carry Blackhorn 209 powder.  I spoke with my manager and we will start to carry it.  We won't get a lot at once but we will start carrying it soon at Runnings Brockport.  We just got a bunch of CVA and Traditions products.  From what my coworkers say, the muzzleloading stuff sells fast.

Can you talk to the Canandaigua store and get them to carry it too?

  8. I had a fusion done 27 yrs. ago in the month of Feb. Are you in a neck collar? That collar was my best friend at first ... I was in one for a month I think. That first month was tough but once I got out of the collar things progressed nicely. I hunted that fall and don't recall any problems. I was using an 06 at that time but changed over to a 243 and never looked back. Good Luck!
