  1. Saturday was good to us, we had 4 people in the boat including my son who came home to fish. We hadn't been on the lake yet this year so we started with rigs and it was busy for the 1st couple of hours. When it slowed down we tried some other things and ended up with a 5.82 lb rainbow off leadcore that was leader for the day. We ended up with a dozen fish (lakers and rainbows) but nothing big. Having my son and his friends along made for a great weekend. Sunday was tough, we tried shallow and had a major tangle involving a little laker that wrapped 4 rods without tripping the downrigger. We also lost a nice lakes off a yellow J-9 rapala behind a small dipsy run out 80'.The wind finally won and we quit around noon.
  2. Looking for one Penn Swivelmatic base, the shark fin style. Will be on Seneca for the weekend but will be back Monday. Thanks
  3. We have an 18" Penn Yan, 3.0L I/O, 9.9 kicker on starboard corner and small cooler over swim platform. Currently we have 2 short arm Penn downriggers, one on each side. I am considering mounting a third 4 foot boom off the rear but am not sure if I'm going to end up with more of a pain than a gain. Any of you with expierence please throw your 2 cents in. Thanks
  4. Thermoclining is way too much work, you need to bring new friends each trip to reel them up for you. Serriously, I wonder how much 7 strand backer a 47LC will hold. It would make repeatability easy.
  5. Furuno is long lasting quality electronics. Replaced my 1986 unit last year with a 620 - works great
  6. We went out same time as Blue Ghost but went further south. 1st fish was a 10# rainbow, 40' down, followed imediately by a 3# laker on the other rig. Caught 2 more little rainbows, a small brown then a 7# laker off a fly / spin doctor combo behind a dipsy. All over by 8:30 but we stayed till we got wet. Rainbow was our boats best ever in 20 years on Finger Lakes.
  7. Went out of the north end at dawn, no one else out, set up in 200 feet, marked fish from 30 to 140 FOW. We caught 8 including 2 rainbows and one 8# laker. Off the water by 11:00.
