  1. Nice going! If you don't mind me asking what type of jig are you using?
  2. The smile says it all! She'll never forget that moment.
  3. I was considering that. I'm going to test things out at a local launch this week.
  4. Thank you for the feedback rolmops. That's a good approach to it. I'll put my normal load with 2 fishermen at the back and have a look. I'll check the angles with a digital angle finder. The transducer adjustments are pretty course but hopefully I'll find the sweet spot. Thanks again and good luck out on the water.
  5. I'm wondering if anyone has found a preferred angle for the transducer on these boats. I installed a RM Helix 9 on it and I'm not picking up the 10 or 15 pound weights very well. These boats ride bow high so maybe I need to adjust the angle higher but when I go to the next click it looks too high. The angle I have been using is 8 degrees. I just adjusted the ping rate down but haven't been on the water since. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
  6. Correction: Numbers were way down from the average day.
  7. Tough day for us. Fished from 8 to 6 and didn't move a rod. First time we didn't hook up in a long time. Fished 80 to 400. Pretty much a blank screen all day. We were able to find good temp all day and the few fish we marked were out of temp. Fleas weren't terrible but we pulled gear occasionally to keep them from building up too much. Most of the big boys were fishing much deeper than us. Checked in with the fish cleaning operator and he said the numbers were way down. Well that's fishing. We always enjoy ourselves no matter the fish count. Good luck out there.
  8. First time out this year. We're going to try to make a day of it Wednesday. Looking a little bumpy Thursday and Friday. We'll let you know how we make out.
  9. Thank you guys I really appreciate the feedback.
  10. I was hoping to fish out of Oswego this week but I'm concerned about the effect of North winds followed by East winds. Just wondering if I should hold off until it sets up a little bit. Any input is greatly appreciated.
  11. Tough day but at least you got out.
  12. That's awesome! Nice to see some big silvers.
  13. Great idea. Thanks again.
  14. You Thank you jollyroger. I'll plan on that.
  15. Thanks again Rollmops. I learned that lesson the hard way out of Fairhaven not long after I purchased the boat. I can laugh about it now but it wasn't funny when it happened! I'm looking at some Cisco single masts with pulleys. Debating 24" vs 36" height. Leaning towards 36". Do you remember what height your mats were?
  16. Thank you Rollmops. That's an excellent idea. Tough to get to the bow of those Islanders.
  17. I'm debating whether or not to install a mast on the bow of the boat. I would keep the reels on the arch. My planer reels and pulleys are on the arch now and the tow lines are a little too close the rods. I hate drilling holes in the boat but if I do I'd like to do it once and not regret it. Has anyone with a similar boss done this?
  18. That is impressive! Can't wait to get mine wet. Setting up the braid rods today.
  19. Thanks for all the feedback guys. I'm anxious to try them out.
  20. Great morning. Thanks for the report.
  21. Thanks Gambler. I should probably just get both. I'll probably end up with the whole lineup eventually. My wife says I have a tackle addiction!
