  1. I use to take my work lunch hr  at times to the Canandaigua north end ramp for the free entertainment until they started charging for anyone to enter.....was like the end of the world when a t storm rolled in and 30 plus boats came flying in

  2. One spring day few years back we were fishing browns out of sodus . Wind picked up pretty good sw and built a decent 2 to 3 ft. Chop. I was using my old wood planer boards that my sad had made. Wave flipped one, Dove straight under the boat, pulled line off the planer reel drag going before I could do anything , crossed under the hull , came up on port side wrapping the port board and snapped the planer line. Dead drift , in neutral , planer line under out drive 2 boards wrapped , 6 lines all together and only lost one release .....45 mins later . We called it a day lol. Used every word my mom had told me not to use that day lol. It's Def a memory me and dad share . Glad to have new boards now!

  3. Share your rookie stories!!

Just for fun......we have all had the ONE friend, a rookie troller crew member make a mistake leaving you saying WTH?! From a Bill Dance style dipsy rod hookset to tightening the drag on a running king. What are your stories??  Names can be left out LOL  . Don't want any hurt feelings, just for fun, GO!

  4. Same to you pap!  I really hope they stick with it .  Trying to keep their attention as trolling bores them.

They sound like Ricky Bobby on the boat all the time right now ...I JUST WANNA GO FAST!! lol.

  5. To start off the fishing was less than stellar. The bite didn't make it my best trip. Dad was FINALLY back on the water after a neck break in March . Months of rehab and inability to be mobile are now in the rear view . He was feeling up to it so I bailed on ontario to hit cayuga for a smooth ride , fearing the 2 ft chop may irritate his newly healed neck. Met him at the house at 530. He was up since 230 pumped to go lol. Spent a few hrs out, hit a couple before he got sore but it was the best feeling to have my fishing partner back. Cracking jokes and he blaming me for slow fishing bc of my spread while I blame his driving was all normal one again lol. He landed his first fish of the year, a brown and hopefully this weekend back at it again . 20170702_082054.jpg20170702_091322.jpg20170702_091844.jpg

  6. Had one bouncing between 20-22 lbs on dial scale . few in the 9-12 range . I hooked the 19-22 laker then at the same time a king started smoking the rigger right next to me . he took the wire, I took the rod  and he  was beat by the end lol

I was thinking bout this a couple weeks ago would be a creative way to reduce bait a little and 1 stocking of a few thousand kings would be gone after a few years (if they were unsuccessful at spawning like most of lake Ontario's kings) but would keep you on your toes while fishing. The copper pulling guys would probably hate the idea after a couple shoulders being yanked out of socket

for years now my dad has tried pulling wire on lake o to hook a king against my advise lmao. Drops the wire in for 15-20 mins here and there if in under 100 fow. Never hooked one (luckily)  but many big lakers .

  8. sort of off topic....how is the bass and pike fishing in Seneca lake??? It seems trout fishing the spring shallow used to be a pike and smallmouth nuisance off the boards . I don't think I have caught a pike or bass trolling out there in 2 years . Running pump house area shallow in clear water there were smallmouth all over scattering away from boat , now nothing . Are the populations that bad?? I know 3 or 4 years ago there was a post somewhere on here about the amount of dead pike floating after winter. Thoughts??

  9. We def had a grind. Went in determined to win for dad since he is still layed up with a broken neck at home. Started Friday with a few small lakers shallow running dresden. Saturday ran to the north end . Had slow but steady action including a nice laker that placed and a landlock triple near bellhurst all off the boards snap weight and Alpena diamonds . Biggest landlock held 3rd for a bit . Finished with 8 fish that day . 5 lakers 3 landlocks . Sunday same area was dry and only managed 2 lakers and a small landlock . Stuck it out way longer than I should have. Monday was weeds rain and wind for an hour and a 3lb is laker . No consistent bite , all different spoons hit . Saturdays laker held on to fifth place in the mens division though. 9th plaque the boat has earned. Had a great time with friends and the family , already counting down to next year !
