  1. Have a good one Dave, and maybe a couple of cold ones too.
  2. One step closer, sounds promising.
  3. Got on the water around 7:00. Started out in front of the park and worked north searching while Red Eyes and Frisco scouted to the south, never really found them in big numbers anywhere but did manage some fish mid way between the boyscout camp and the park over 250' of water. Ended up with four LL's in the 20 to 24" range and 3 LL that were under size. Only 1 laker around 5 pounds. Took all shots deep, 80 to 100 feet off the riggers and 280+ on the wire. Not even a sniff on anything up top. All keeper fish came on SD and fly's. A-tom-ik cooper NBK/Big Fin and L-208 fly's trailing behind white-green dot SD's. The smaller LL's hit honey bee cheater spoons just like they did all last season. Late morning the wind picked up and we thought maybe the bite would follow suit but that nice little breeze quickly turned into a hard NE blow and we pulled lines for the day. I should add that if the wind is coming from the north or the north east it makes for a white knuckle ride in under the bridge. There's a 10 to 12 foot wide shoot to hit with steel on one side and 6" of water on the other. Water is skinny so you will be trimmed way up. Looking back I would drop my canopy and curtains next time to limit the winds effect.
  4. Gill-T, I really thought it would be RR that called BS on that picture. In Ken's defense, the weather for May 2 2008 was sunny with a high of 61 and a low of 47, you gotta love the internet. Ken was kind enough to show me where the 18" mark is on the tape measure, so I could measure a brown if I had to, in return I'll set up the time and date on his camera so there is no question in the future. Nice catch Gill-T
  5. Great day on the water, thanks again for the ride Ken. Nice reporting by the way, but it just doesn't seem to fully describe all of the days events. I can't put my finger on it but it seems as thou some of the details of todays trip seem to have "slipped" your mind or out of your hands one or the other. It will come to me sooner or later and I'll fill in the blanks.
  6. Wondering if anybody else is heading to this on Saturday. I'll be there around noon, if anyone else is heading up get in touch with me if you'd like shoot the breeze and have a cold one. Looking at the show as a way to put some faces and names together. L J
  7. 2001.....2011 would be what I ment to say. What a dumb a--!
  8. Wow,,, great fish. Congrats guys, those two would be a great year let alone a great day. I'm a Cayuga guy but when I get off here I'll be map questing Seneca. Good thing the "cup" for 2001 hasn't started yet.
  9. Waht are yuo takling abuot Ken, eye can raed jsut fine, but my speliins not so to pretty good. I never thought it would take you this long to post that little slip up. What's an inch or two amongst friends anyway.
  10. I've never fished this lake but after reading the posts this past fall I've been wanting to get on it. No better time than during a tournament, please post the dates when you get them.
  11. I would tend to agree with Gill-T, you may be out of the comfort zone as far as speed with those spinner types. The are heavier than the JJ's and the vibrax. How fast were you running them?
  12. Got out Friday, ended up by myself with a last minute back out but the fishing was great. I didn't stray to far from T-Falls, there was no need. Two lakers out deep in front of the park on the wire, 210 to 280 Mt.Dew and Big Fin Glow. What was suprising is while making an inside turn the LL's started hammering the same set up. Ended up releasing a dozen or more 20"+/- LL's. Fished the afternoon from 12:00 to 3:30. Now yesterday I got out with Frisco, we fished a little tighter to shore in search of some browns only taking one legal fish which I didn't realize he wanted so I have to live with Ken busting my balls for at least this season as I released it on him . The land lock bite was fantastic, steady action all morning. Sticks off the boards, flasher flies on the rigs and Kenny's new best friend, lead line fired all day as well. No big suprise here, green green green. Fished over 60 to 200 at 2.5 SOG and had a blast. We lost count of how many fish we took but it was a day to remember. Double's, trips and even one quad. As a side note, in the time it took to read this post Ken's brown I released has grown by another 2 pounds and will surely be a state record by mid summer . Thanks for the trip Ken.
  13. Don, I've got a Raymarine sx5 on my lund. I've had it for three years now and have had no issue's with it. It's a wheel mounted unit. I troll with my 9.9 Merc connected to my main motor. This unit doesn't have speed control but I use a Digi-troll unit which works fine. I don't have the unit hooked in with my gps unit but you can if yoou wanted to. I fish the fingers so I don't see the need. I can tell you this for sure, once you get one you will never want to be without again, I some times wonder how I ever fished with the kids and "newbies" on the boat without one.
  14. Merry Christmas to all.....very well written Ray, you may have a future with Hallmark.
  15. Not yet, I think he said his printer was out of ink.
  16. Talk to Stinger, he is handing out free winter passes to L P, maybe he can get you a couple for the six pack course.
  17. Thanks John, I'd like to check it out. I want to find a place on the south east shore, I avoid Ithaca traffic anytime I can. I'll be in touch. Mark
  18. Thank Scott, I got to looking around down there and thought maybe they had a second phase planned for this winter. Looks like L P for me too Andy, maybe I'll "run" into you down up there one of these days.-Mark
  19. I grew up spending my summers with my grandfather (Jake) fishing every weekend on his old family glass boat. For as long as I can remeber he talk about owning a Lund one day. Well some 25 years later I purchased one for us. The day I brought it home I called him to come over and take a look at our new boat. He had walk around it twice I think before he finally says, hey Mark, that's a Lund. It was a good feeling seeing how happy he was that we finally had one. Well for a year I couldn't pick out a name that a liked, and Grandpa rode me all the time telling me I had to get her named. I guess because I spent so much time with him growing up my family says I act like him so they have always called me Lil Jake, seemed like a perfect fit for the boat name. I never told him what I had named the boat until one day a fews years back we were fishing together and a friend called over the radio for Lil Jake, he laughed and said hey somebody's calling you not knowing they really were. When I keyed the mike and responded this is L J go ahead it put a tear in his eye and I knew I had choosen the right name. I'm happy to say that at 84 years old I got him out a half a dozen times this year and we are looking to do more than that next year. Sometimes fishing isn't about the fish at all. Mark
  20. Last week while at the launch Frisco and I noticed a sign that said the launch would be closed as of 11-8-10. Does anyone have any info one way or the other this. I know last year they did some work on the slips and had it shut down for a while but not all season. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mark
  21. John, congrats on the honey moon and hello "Mrs. Mower". If you would have had 2700 foot cooper and a NBK you could have set the ships cook up with something sweet. Congradulations to the both of you and I hope you have many happy years in your future.
  22. Lil Jake

    I NEED BAIT!

there's a shop just north of Lasning(can't remember the name of it) but the guy that runs it is named Harlin 607-592-7544. He's been open everytime I've needed bait.
  23. I tried to get him to run more than two a piece but you know Frisco, by the book or get off my boat he said, considering we in the middle of the lake I didn't push the issue.
