  1. Got out with Frisco yesterday from 12:30 to dark. Launch at Myers and fished all the usual hunts. T-Falls north to the camp then across the lake to the plant before finishing the day back out in front of the launch. We left shore with a plan to target the browns and bows but after a few hours of top lines in the skinny water it became clear that it wasn't happening so we moved out deeper and found that the screen lit up with fish. The bait pods were few and far between but that's where the active fish seemed to be. Lost track of the number of smaller LL we picked up anywhere from 45 to 80 down. Picked up 8 or so lakers that were in the 4 to 5lb range on SD/fly combo. Mt Dew and the big fin pro-am glow did the trick out 210 to 280. As far as the spoons that the LL were hitting it really didn't seem to matter. There wasn't any one area that stood out as being the hot spot, anyplace we found bait we found active fish. Ken thanks for the ride it was great to get out on the water and away from work for a little bit.-------------- Next time we should run some core, I here that's the hot ticket.
  2. I think we've all done that or at least something similar to that at one point or another, and I'd say it a safe bet that none of us ever caught anything using that particular technique. At least it was a beautiful day.
  3. Yeah I can't remeber now what Coast Gaurd rating you have to have in a PFD for this law but the belts meet the requirements. They have them at BPS, Gander and Cabela's. When I last priced them couple months ago they were like 50 to 60 bucks. They really are as comfortable as a PFD can get. Mark
  4. Rollie, The rule starts as of Nov. 1 If you haven't tried one of the belt they have on the market now you should give one a look. I wore one all summer while fishing alone. After about 10 minutes you won't even notice your wearing it, and once deployed (a quick thank you to beer filled buddy of mine) it does a good job of keeping you up, my buddy goes around 250lbs. In your case thou, I'd think the 'bubble' would be enough. Mark
  5. Jim, I got looking at the Clute Park haul and that's just what it would be for me is a haul. I'm going tp launch out of Sampson Saturday with the some of my other Cayuga brothers. If you can't make it up that far north I'll see you at the B&B next weekend hopefully. David and Wayne I'll see you guys at the launch around 7:00. I'm planning to fish until around 4ish. I'll be on 68 or 607-222-8889
  6. Clute park is fine with me, I guess I forgot that we had talked about it before. Where is the park at? I'll be coming form Union Springs.
  7. After the August 14 outing, which was just a hair shy of insanity with the wind and waves, I think it is safe to say T.C. has clinched the Cup for this year. Best I can tell it was only myself and Mower (who went big by the way) that fished on the 14th. That said there is the matter of Seneca defended their "home turf" this weekend. I'll be lauching out of Sampson and was really hoping to meet up back there around 4:30 for a little ball bustin, handing out some cash and maybe a cocktail or two. If you can't make it I'll send checks out to all of those that have money coming your way, but I'd like to see eveyone if possible. If you have suggestions for next year this would be a great time to talk about any changes we should make, like maybe spotting T.S. 50# or so .Hope to see you all this weekend. Mark PS don't forget the B&B coming up next weekend on Cayuga.(side bets are always welcome)
  8. The derby this weekend out of Lansing is being put together by one of are own here on the site and he is not fishing in an effort to insure all goes smoothly and it will be back again for years to come. I just wanted to take a second and give Scott the thanks he deserves. Thank you Scott for doing this for the rest of us, it is greatly apriciated. Mark
  9. Sorry for the delay guys I've been having some computer issue's. Week three went down like this. Seneca total:29.0( all 711skwerz, good job)------Cayuga with fish coming from more than one source totaled out at 48-12oz. With the weekly lunker going to yours truely at 10-12oz. This week is the all Cayuga outing plus the "Lighthouse Derby" so I see all of you at the weigh in on the 14th. L J
  10. I'm going to give it one more day to be sure everbody that fished has reported in but as it looks now Cayuga's lead has grown some more. The sept 11 date will be Seneca's best shot. All thou aug 14 is the Lighthouse Tourney on Cayuga and that seems to bring out the best in LB88 so I don't think it's completely undo-able for them yet. I'll post tomorrow night guys. L J
  11. Indian, I'll be out tomorrow and get them for you, but if launch out of T-Falls just look across the lake at about "2:00" and you will see the lighthouse on the piont, that's it.
  12. Mower, Hope you've got your ride back and she's 100% for the weekend. I'm starting to think the Seneca guys have given up. See you on the water. L J
  13. I can't get over how little has been said by the Seneca guys. I would have thought that you would have been full of of BS after LB88's big win. I guess I was right when I figured that was a "fluke". So what's the deal this weekend----Cayuga up by 40lbs plus or what? L J
  14. This Saturday will be "hump day" for us gentlemen. Seneca has some catchin up to do but with some of the reports I've been reading it looks like it could come down to home field advantage in the fifth and final week to see if Seneca can complete a come back. Good luck to all. L J
  15. That's lines wet at 5:50 correct RR? We can be on the lake earlI hope, it's gonna take me 45 minutes to get down south so I can shadow you all day long. Andy I'll be on 68 saturday so we shouldn't have any bumper boat issues this year. Good luck guys. L J
  16. Not to bad for a jarhead, glad to see you got the first one under your belt. I'd take you out on Cayuga any week night next week if you can handle sipping a pop or two with a ranger. I fish out of Union Springs PM me if you want to go out, good job on the fish and happy to see you here on the water instead of in harms-way. God Bless all of or military men.
  17. I think we should all take a day off when there is a basshole tourney on any given lake, leave the trout alone and just go run up and down the lake within 15 feet of these idiots. Maybe even better, pull up next to them and anchor for a swim. I'm all for "to each his own" but after a while you lose respect for these clowns. Last year I had a flat-top go by me in the morning fog at 60+mph close enough that he took an otter board with him so I totally understand were you fellows are coming from. There's alot of water out there and with just a little commen curdisy this post could be avoided all together. Just my rant I've been keeping in for a year now. Mark
  18. Lunch at Kidders sounds like a great idea, what day are you thinking about going? Saturday would be tuff but if Sunday is your plan me and the wife are in. Mark
  19. I'll be out in the mornings all weekend. I assume evrybody is running on ch 68, I will be, talk to you guys on the water.
  20. I only received weights from seven guys, 4 on Cayuga and three of you from Seneca. Seneca really struggled this past week with only five fish to choose from Seneca has a weekly total of 19lb 2oz. Cayuga didn't do as well as in week one but they have 11 fish to find the heavy five, with the total being 37lb 4oz. Tough blow to the Seneca team and their come back efforts. Totals for two weeks is now Cayuga 78lb 0oz and Seneca has 52lb 13oz. Congrats to mower for the weekly lunker at 7lb 11oz, you beat me by 1oz. Hang in there Seneca, you guys have spotted us enough now, it's time to make your move. L J
  21. Still waiting to hear from a couple of guys. I'll give it until Friday and by then I'll have to assume these guys either didn't fish or fished Seneca,,,,,I mean didn't catch any fish . Unless some big numbers come in it's looking like Cayuga will extend their lead. We'll have to wait and see. I'll post results Friday after work. L J
  22. Round 2 is here boys, good luck to all. As a side note; I had some things stolen from my truck last evening, not alot but one item was my cell phone, so I'll be unreachable by cell until tomorrow afternoon. That said you guys I talk with via cell give me a call so I have your numbers again. Good luck guys and happy hunting. L J 607-222-8889
  23. I'd like to get in on this I just have to find a way to get signed up. I've been to Barney's but where is Bears and where is the weigh in going to be. Does anyone know if there is a way to get an entry form on line? Mark
