  1. Hello Scott, I'm in. If you need any help with the set up let me know. LJ
  2. I have the same story as Legacy. Never had an issue with the coating, not that I haven't had some come off now and again, it just doesn't seem to hurt the peformance at least with the sub troll. The only guy I know thats had an issue was because he ran his rigger (cannon) at a 90 instead of straight out the back. Like above I have a removable probe set-up with exsposed metal but haven't had a problem.
  3. I've always got time for a beer and some b/s. See you guys later. Mark
  4. Was out two weeks ago and it was. They had the bubbler workig so I'd imagine it's good to go. Hug the right side on your way out, it's pretty skinny around the bridge.
  5. I thought about trying to do something like that but it would be very diffucult to track all the information if it's spread out to much. While I understand where your coming from I want to set dates so I can do all the weight inputs for teams and individual scoring at once. Anyother way is more like a job than a hobby, sorry Z.
  6. Mower brought up an interesting point earlier. If you have a bigger boat that would be a hassel to trailer from one lake to another here's my solution. If you fish Cayuga on your own boat but can't get it to Seneca or vise versa you can get a seat with one of your team mates. If your one the rod or if it's one of your set ups that fires you get the points for the individual portion of the contest. A bit of cooperation between team mates is all that's needed. Shouldn't be a problem. So you guys with the monster rigs don't let the "away game" keep you from getting in.
  7. If you want in with this new format please pm me your name and what your home lake is. I'll see how close the team numbers are and go from there. I'd like your input on the rules and scoring. My plan was the heaviest five fish per team. This will work for the team and individual competition plus allow me to track both at once. I'm OK with the honor system for weights. I realize the world is full of bad people, but those people don't fish, there's no trolling in DC. I don't know how the rest of you feel about that. When you pay your entry you're paying for your boat no matter who's on it. That way we can take who ever might want to go that day. The boat gets the weight no matter who's on the rod. The two weeks we are all together we can through an extra $10 a boat in for the big fish of the day.(just an Idea) If you have any input get it on here. I'll put the rules together so everybody will have a chance to comment on them. Mark
  8. OK here is what I think will work the best and add a little twist. We call this thing the Cayuga Seneca Cup. We split it into two teams for lake bragging rights. Lets say we end up with 8 boats from each lake, we pick two days out of the month and fish our home lakes. The honor system will be used to combined the heaviest five fish every week. The exception being the last to weeks of the league when we will all fish Seneca and then Cayuga and have a weigh in at both. That makes for the whole we beat you guys on your own lake thing. I'll track the fish weekly for team and individual season ending amounts. At the end of the year using 16 boats as an example at $20 a boat the payout will work like this. The angler that contributes the most to thier teams five fish weekly weight over the season wins $100, that's for the winning and losing team leader. On the winning team the top five in weight are paid 2nd-$50, 3rd-$30, 4th-$20 and 5th-$10. The rest of the team needs to hope the big winner is buying the beers at the last weigh in. I know this different than the way this whole thing started but with everyone's schedules and being spread out over the two lakes I think this works better. Guys won't have to trailer as much and if you can't make a week you have your team to pick up the slack. Let me know what you think and we'll go from there. Mark
  9. I was that third man on Frisco's rig a couple of weeks back. After seeing the other two guys in the belt type I bought two the next day. Much much user friendly.
  10. Well Chowder, Frisco can say what he wants about the cooper rigs today,,,,,, but I'd like to see an auto pilot retrive a set of truck keys.
  11. Bumping this back up. It sounds like we have enough interest to make this fly. If anyone has any additional input please post it and I'll start putting this together. My plan is to have something down by the first of the year so we can all look it over and tweak it. I know about the pro-am's and should be able to schedule around them. Are there anyother tourney dates out yet? I'm leaning towards once a month from April through October.
  12. I'm interested, I'd like to see one when you get one built.
  13. WOW.....I think that about somes it up. Keep this guy in mind next time your hauling to the launch,,,they live among us. As a matter of fact I think most of them sail out of Ithaca.
  14. Chowder, That boat your talking about was me. When we first came across one another At T-Falls I headed out towards deep water as soon as I saw you come around the point, not a big deal to me, I saw you on the rod and and tried to give you as much room as I could. The second time we crossed paths is a different story. Knowing now that you wanted to get behind me explains a lot. I seen you heading east and looking at my watch I figured you to be heading to the weight station, so I go minus 35 on my auto pilot to pass behind you. Then I see you turning down on me and that's when I said to my 83 year old fishing partner the same thing you were most likely saying to yours, "What the hell is this guy doing?" I hit minus 10 one more time and that's all the course change I had left with what I was dragging, that's what I ment by I had already turned out once, not the deal at T-Falls. So anyhow that's how I saw it all happen, you would be hard pressed to get me out looking for "confrataion" on the weekends, life is just to dam short, and that wasn't case. Just two boats heading for the same water, I also think looking back now that with that north wind your "slight" south turn looked more aggressive than it was ment to be. Non-issue as far as I'm concerned, see you on the water. Mark (black and tan Lund)
  15. Here's another thought. If we schedule this league in conjuction with the tournaments around the finger lakes we kill two birds with one stone. Not to mention if I'm in a tourney with 100 boats I'm sharing any info I'm coming acrossed with the league members, if I can't win I rather see some one in the group win. Mark
  16. I was thinking along the same lines. A fee in the beginning to use for a party at the end of the of the season and then possibly an opiontional $5 a week for the biggest fish or the smallest legal fish or pick a weight in the morning at randem and see who gets the closest to it. These are all just ideas but it's our league so we'll set it up however we collectively think it would be the most fun. Keep the ideas coming, if you have one share it. Mark
  17. Dave, I was thinking just Cayuga when this started only because that's where I keep my boat. However if the majority are open to it we could move around some, maybe start north on Cayuga and work south and even drag over the hill to Seneca for a week. Nothing is written in stone, as a matter of fact I'm still taking notes on the suggestions coming in. I want to make so that the rules are made up by members. A league "for the people by the people" if will. Once the input stops coming in I'll get some what of an outline of rules, fee's and prizes written, put them on here and make changes from there. Mark
  18. Having the time is always an issue, we could come up with a sub list for guys that know in advance that they won't make. And again if one boat on the team scores then both boats score(the guy who no shows should buy the beer the next outing). As far as catch and release, I couldn't agree more. We can work all this out but if a guy wants to cheat to win a "fun" league then that guy is just an idiot. Most of us carry scales and I for one have no problem with the honor system, it's not like we're in government here. Just keep thinking on ways to tweek this thing, we've got all winter to get it nailed down. Mark
  19. Glad to see some of the heavy hitters are interested. We will have to let it sit out there a while and see how many others want to give it a shot. It's not really that complicated it's just hard to explain on here when I type with only one finger. The format is ment to bring people together and make a few friends. It also lends it's self well to some serious ball busting, which is all part of it. Let's toss some ideas around for the next week or two and see if we can make this fly, I figure we're all out there anyways why not make it a little more interesting. Mark
  20. I am looking to see if anybody would be interested in a fishing league. What I had in mind is something like this. A team would consist of two boats each week. We use the teams total score (however we decide to score it) towards the end of the year total. If a "team" scores 220 pts. both boats get those points even if one boat catches all the fish. For the first week each team is asigned a number say 1-12 at randem. 1 and 12 are a team 2 and 11, 3 and 10 and so on. It will work the same all year as far as the pairings but after the first week it will be your ranking by points 1 to 12 that sets that weeks teams. So the boats that are not catching fish have a chance and the guys at the top have to stay steady. I just started messing with this idea today but if there's enough interest I'll work at it and get everyone's input. I think it would be a good way to meet people from this site, have a couple pops and talk trolling. Mark
  21. The Boys and Girls Club is cancelling the tourney this weekend. The women I spoke with said they were hoping for 400 or so people but they had only 50. So it was a numbers thing. I would think this week a lot of guys would be signing up but that's where it's at for now. If I hear anything different I'll post again.
  22. I just sent the head guy overthere an e-mail. When he gets back to me I'll post his response. Mark
  23. Thank god the weekends here, I had a heck of a time reading your report. I must have to much blood in my alcohol system. Thanks for the report Billy I'm taking a group of 13 year olds out in the morning, none of them have ever gone before so hopefully by the end of the weekend we'll have 3 young men hooked to the game.
