  1. I am posting this for a friend please do not respond to me personally. The boat is new condition as it has hardly been used http://stcatharines.kijiji.ca/c-cars-ve ... Z285775848
  2. I started using wire divers this year. I noticed the same thing I literally took shots 2-1 over the braid or the mono. However, it took me quite some time to start landing good sized fish on them, I broke off the first 7-8 matures loosing alot of tackle along with it. Once you get used to playing with the drag it gets easier. As well I have learned to keep the drag backed off during the troll. You can't keep it as tight as you would for a mono or a braid. I also found that roller rods removed alot of the resistance during the fight, so you can keep a more constant drag than you can with a regular rod and a twilly. I'm sold now and will definately say that wires are worth it. they catch most of the big fish on my boat.
  3. I like shorter leads myself. I run 15 foot leaders even off of my Lead cores. I believe that it helps with the action as the speed varies in turns. the lure drops and flutters when it slows and whips when it speeds up.
  4. I'll second for fish307.com they have been great. there are detailed drawings and part labels on the website. If you are handy at all I'm sure you can get the parts online there and fix the problem yourself.
  5. I agree. I fish Canadian waters but the warmest water is around the Niagara river outlet. from Beamsville to Olcott.

  8. I second the 42nd with matching 42nd fly. As well I've caught some great fish this year on the White Nuclear trailing a hammer fly. Dalmation with a mirage fly is good too. Bloody death with a purple or pink fly is hot on the right day.
  9. wow you found a way to make a line break on a dipsey more expensive. I agree how would you ever know where that lure is in the spread. I like my wire dipseys. good enough.
  10. if you are only running four rods i don't know that all that equipment is entirely necessary I run inlines and have just as much success as I did with my mast and have less trouble deploying them.
  11. Back to the Laker topic...... I know near the Niagara River here we don't go out to 200 feet to catch these fish. Most lakers in the spring come shallow like 50-60 feet. even in the summer months 80-100 is the majic number. NK cowbells and a spin and glow work great. however most people I know don't want to catch em. lol. don't be affraid to change it up.
  12. I'm going to vouch for the Scotty propacks.
  13. Hey I was just wondering if anyone out there has tried the batrix tunable cut baits yet. I was also wondering how they differ from the MC Rockets. If some one has used both could you let me know which you prefer and why. Thanks Matt
  14. Keep this in mind..when you are fishing that deep unless you have an incredible spread between you booms you might only be able to run 1 rigger anyways so I don't know if 2 20 pound weights are necessary. I can see major tangles happening with 2 weights down that far.I don't know how much fun cranking a 20Lbs shark up from 200 feet would be with a manual rigger either. I would take the suggestion of going with the propacks or the brutes as well.. I believe the new mag 10's can sustain a 20 Lbs weight as well. Let us know how you make out.
  15. Mine is and external mount and it is only 3 seasons old. I'm sure it must be the transducer. I think I'll give it one more shot this year but for the 70 bucs I think I'm better not having the head aches.
  16. sorry for the late response. but yes all the shakers but one had the adipose fins clipped. we got lots of them this year with the fins clipped. the only problem with those little buggers is they are too aggressive with the trebles on the spoons and don't usually end up surviving the battle. however it's a good sign that the net pens are working. keep it up boys. Matt
  17. I have a 565 on my boat. I find it works fine in water under 100 feet. once I get over that I'm never confident that it is going to continue working. It will often just read 0.1 or 0.4 feet deep. sometimes it will read 20 or 30 feet deep even though I am clearly well over 300 fow. It never did this when it was new but it is now 3 seasons old. I assume it is a problem with the transducer but before I go purchase a new transducer I was hoping for some feed back. Thanks Matt
  18. That Sea sick waddler NK in Yankee Trollers picture was smokin hot for us all season. Early in the mornings especially. Green spindoctors with yellow halo tape Monkey puke spoons where good on my boat too.
  19. Try this. use a Heavy ball 15Lbs or better. attach the Grease trap to the back of the ball. above the ball attach your main line with a spin and glow or a williams spoon with a lead of 4-6 feet. use a stacker scotty powergrip release so that you can conect the release to the cable a foot or so above the ball. good luck.
