Saturday we toke my buddies mom out for her birthday and she got a nice 20 pounder. Totally made my weekend. I am having problems with my canon speed and thermal probe. It has stopped giving me the feet at the ball on the display on the boat. If anyone has any suggestions what might be the problem any information would be appreciated. Speed and temp work but not feet down, i tried changing the batteries but that did not help.

Hot Lure:NK Glow frog, Stinger purple alewife, DW green alewife. Trolling Speed: 2.1 Down Speed:2.3 Boat Depth:200 to 400 for the most part. Lure Depth:42 to 51 was my best. ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================Been a pretty good year so far till two weeks ago when i went out to cover my boat and discovered that all my rods had been stolen out of my boat. Don't have any idea who would do that. My fault i guess i shouldn't have left them out there but i thought with being under the mercury light it would be OK. I live out in the country to but i guess if they want it bad enough they are gonna get it. So a new invisible fence for my German Shepard and a new Doberman puppy and hopefully i wont have these problems any more. Well onto the fishing we are back in action and me and Matt went out Saturday and boy it showed i haven't fished in a couple weeks, i really stunk it up. finally at the end of the day we went in close and got Matt a Coho. Every time Matt goes its a tough bite and he was starting to think he had some bad juju going on. I invited Matt to go with us all weekend cause i really wanted him to get to fight a big fish. Sunday we ended up going late cause Saturday night we had to many s. Matt, Mooker's, Clint and myself headed out to 200 ft deep straight out and within 20 minutes the NK mag glow frog had Matt battling the biggest fish of his life. Mr king hit the deck at just about 20 lbs. I was so happy for him that made my season. Then this old Luhr Jenson frog flutter spoon got Clint a nice 6 lbs Brown Trout. And finally after a Skippy, Mooker's got his first ever King. Upon returning we stop by the DEC boat and Mooker's King had a chip in its head WOW what a great day. Monday me and Beers took the women out for the day. They got up on the top of the cuddy and me and Bubba got a nice steely his biggest fish ever, on my 180 diver no ring pulling a monkey puke looking spoon i got, gold and orange. Then i totally missed a good release and we went two hours without taking a hit and took a nice king on a DW green alewife. And then another skip who was released successfully. All in all a great weekend with great people. I'm not going to let some jerk or jerks stop me from doing something i love. The great people at the bait store in Jedo got me going again wonderful people and wonderful service. Thank you to all who gave some and those who gave all and may god bless all of you that serve in are armed forces.

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Karl/HOOKN AINT EASY ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):May 6,7 Time on Water:6-7 am-2:30 pm/7-7 am-11:30 pm Weather/Temp:6-Overcast, cold/7-Sunny, calm Wind Speed/Direction:Southwest Waves:6-1 ft, 7-Less than one Surface Temp:44 Location:Olcott LAT/LONG (GPS Cords):Just northeast of harbor =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 3 for both days Total Boated: 2 Species Breakdown:1 Coho 1 King Hot Lure: Alpeena Diamond, DW monkey pyuke Trolling Speed:1.7-2.5 Down Speed:1.7-2.5 Boat Depth: 60-120 ft Lure Depth: 50-113 ft ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================Me, Jim, Bill hit Olcott to do some derby fishing Friday and WOW what a screen on my hummingbird holy smokes i honestly thought there might be something wrong with it. There were stacked in there like firewood. But strangely my probe said 44 degrees at surface and 44 degrees on the bottom. Saturday we found some 45 degree water for a little while. So we got a coho after bout a hour on the Alpeena Diamond behind a flasher. Then man we went three hours or so and must have marked a couple hundred fish and got to see some cool images on the side scan. I was throwing everything but the kitchen sink at them and finally a modified DW took a shot and sweet it was NICE king and after a fun fight and Bill doing a great job with the net we decided it was close enough to go get weighed. I was ecstatic and thought i was gonna put my first fish on the board. But he was only 18 . So back out we went and washed lures for a few hours and called it a day. Headed back out there Saturday morning and ended out at 120 ft of water and my god my graph was so packed with fish out there we must have been hitting them with the balls. We must have ran 50 some spoons, stick baits, and other spin doctors and flashers. Not even one release in 5 hours. We got SKUNKED bad. But at the end of the day we hooked this massive thing with the boat and i landed what looks like unraveled pcv pipe. A real beauty. Lots of fish out there but no takers. All in all we had two Lakers get knocked off the board and almost put a king on so i am happy.
  13. Man you guys have made me feel better also. We hit Olcott on Friday morning till 2:30 and again on Saturday morning till 11:30. Friday we got a coho right out of the shoots and then went three hours with nothing and then finally at 10:30 am we took a BIG king so we ran in to get weighed up. It was only 18. Went back out and did nothing. Saturday we fished for almost five hours and i got SKUNKD. PEPEE go away
  14. Nice Buckboard looks like you had a great day and those are some darn nice browns. Just about time for the drag car to come out isn't it. Hope you light them up man other cars and the fish to.
  15. Wow that is awesome, holy heck congratulations. Cant wait to see the picture.
  16. Hey, thanks you guys, i think we are headed to Olcott this Friday if I am not on overtime. And we definitely are going to give her hell on Saturday. Good luck to you guys and yup rdebadts i will be at the oak this August think we might fish the Orleans derby this year, u guys take care.
  17. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Karl Haist Jr/HOOKN AINT EASY ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):April 30 2011 Time on Water:7:00am-11:30am Weather/Temp:Sunny/55 Degrees Wind Speed/Direction:Slight/NE Waves: Less Than one foot Surface Temp:45 Location:Point Breeze LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): The Oak to Johnson's creek =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 5 Total Boated: 4 Species Breakdown:1 Small Brown, 3 Laker's Hot Lure: Apeena Diamond Trolling Speed: 2.2-2.7 mph Down Speed:2.2-2.7 mph Boat Depth: 10-70 ft Lure Depth: 5-68 ft ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================Me and my goods friends Bill and Jim headed out to the Oak to do some derby fishing. And my main goal this season was to put a fish on the board. So we headed out and trolled the shallows and we got a 16 inch Brownie on a Blue tinsel spoon, successfully he was released. After washing lures and not marking any fish i told Jim to take her out deeper and on are way out we took a shot from a 8 pound Laker which was cool it was the first one i ever caught and he was let go also. Then in 60 ft of water trolling east we got hooked up on a nice fish and after a nice 8 minute fight Bill landed a real nice 11 pound Laker, that was on the board till today. So after a pic and that a boys we went 20 minutes without marking a fish so i told Jim maybe they went deeper with the sun getting up in the sky and in 70 feet of water we hooked up with a BIG fish and it was Jim's turn after about 10 minutes i netted the biggest Laker Jim has ever caught. It was 7th on the board yesterday, but probably not on there now. It was really cool to actually take fish in to get weighed up. Running stuff on the bottom with a old flasher and a old flutter spoon was the ticket. That was the best day catching fish on lake o i ever had, still a green horn with a lot to learn. Well we accomplished my goal and did it twice, what a great day with real good friends, good weather, good fishing, and the boat ran great. So my new goal is to catch one that will stick on the board. Got a new bottom paint job and a new Bimini top and a new attitude on the boat this year, so far its working. Good luck to everyone in the derby and take care.
  18. Hey Buckboard thanks man hope all is well and good luck in the derby man if you are fishing it.
  19. Ya that's a good idea, will definitely take a couple with me next time, good deal.
  20. 10 4 Cheers thanks for the tip. Ya we usually are much slower when we are after the kings, cause usually i have more people on board and four balls out the back, had the idle turned down on the old girl but just had a heck of a time getting her slowed down without the motor dieing. I need to invest in a sock one of these days. Thanks and good luck to you.
  21. Cool Buckaroo looks like you are crushing them great pic
  22. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Kooter/ `Hookn Aint Easy' ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):April 9 2011 Time on Water:8 am - 1130 am Weather/Temp:Sunny/50's Wind Speed/Direction: Slight Waves: None Surface Temp:37-39 Location:Point Breeze LAT/LONG (GPS Cords):Near Oak close to shore =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits:1 Total Boated:1 Species Breakdown:Brown Trout Hot Lure:Blue/Green Flutter Spoon Trolling Speed:2.9 to 3.3 Down Speed:2.9 to 3.5 Boat Depth: 10ft to 25ft Lure Depth: 6 ft ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================Could not take it anymore had to get the boat out and go after them browns. I have never caught one before so me and my good friend Jim decided to get after them. The weather was absolutely beautiful and the water was flat. But unfortunately as we got into the lake you could easily see the bottom even out to 25 ft. If it isn't one thing its another lol. But the boat was running great thanks Dad and i was fishing with a good friend. Jim is actually who i bought my boat from and the guy who taught me how to fish for the most part. There was some muddy water to the east of the creek so we worked it over a couple times and marked three fish in there but no takers. So we took a ride out to 25 ft and could still see bottom . I was running two boards and two balls and we headed into 10 ft of water half a mile east of the creek and continued washing lures and Jim said 'well if i was you i would put on a' something i never heard of. This spoon was in one of those old boxes that he included in the boat and yes i will be honest i never would have thought of using it but Jim said a long time ago he used to kill the browns on that spoon years ago. So out she went and a little lunker lotion on it, this thing was out there for maybe five minutes and my god the ugly stick went flying and it was on. I ran it 75 ft off the ball and i thought we were snagged but it started pulling line and three minutes later Jim ran back and netted my first ever trophy brown trout i was ecstatic and pumped. What a great day and a great memory with my old friend, i will never forget this day on the big O. Thank god for that fish we had a rough year last year and what a great way to start the fishing season.
  23. Thank you very much for the tips and incite i am gonna give it a shot tomorrow. Cant wait to get the boat out there thought
