Fall Browns

I see many fishermen catching fish with the nylon nets and many throwing them back and not reviving them before they swim off.I use a rubber net and make sure they are breathing good before I let them swim off.Quality for me is better than quantity knowing the fish is going to survive. In years past ive deen hundreds of dead fish that would have survived if handled properly. -

Years ago when they were stocking salmon 6 million a year. There were always a fleet of boats every day weather permiting,We all communicated on channel 68 and shared all our skills. It was one big family. The more we shared the happier we all were as it goes. Now today the fleet is no more. The men have grew old and the young lack the patience the big waters calls for. Maybe we could bring the fleet back by sharing more info even though we must accept fewer fish It was a happier time back then For those who shared here thanks much as I plan on making a eye trip after the kings have left the lake

Nick Looking back over 36 years on LO downs like any sport.fishing ups and downs like every event.I think that is why I continue with the sport,if it were always great it would bore us after awhile. Then there is the sunset which always comes and is always unique of it"s own. Have a safe trip, there should be quite a few good days ahead though of fishing here. best john

Hopefully tomorrow and a better wind the fish will turn on.Im going to try my ole trick of a dodger squid with a silver horde chasing it.I run the didger not more thwn 8 ft behind the ball and use a cheater with a long lead about 3 ft above.Usally best thing to do is locate a group a fish and then workthem one by one. Many days i would pick up a fish every pass and resetup and work my way back to the loran waypoint. Another good trick is school up some smaller j plugs and .I often would run up to six rods. Another is to use a old flasher about 4 to 6 ft inline with a spoon The fish (salmon)are more plecntiful than last year.Today that NE wind kept the fishing down like it always does. Good luck tomorrow john -

Hi Pultneyville Yacht club has a web cam and a very reliable weather chart.Ive used it many years and found to be the most reliable. The port and Hughes Marina are right on the lake but very protected from storms minutes from our best fishing. The holiday weekend looks great for our derby.Hope all get plenty of Salmon. John
