I've seen it somewhere. Give me a minute...

Bigger than my first apartment - and cleaner.

Parking brake.

It goes full circle. My dad fished the ESLO in the early eighties with me in tow. Now I'm 43 (how did that happen?), he's passed and I'm back on the lake fishing for salmon and trout again.

Search "thermocline". Lots of previous threads on that topic. Also look up Fishhawk TD, getting some recent discussion...

Jolly made me buy more spoons. That's my story, anyway...

Did you check Narby's? I noticed they had ladderback tape on the 9th but I don't remember the specifics.

Swim noodles work well too. Buy one for three bucks and cut off sections as needed.

nice turnout. wish i was in town for weigh in.

Just watched the "Keating on Kings" dvd last night and he mentioned doing the same, organizing his spoons by brand, as well as using good quality, small (30#) ball bearing swivels. Gotta read his books next - want more details and my usual ride is in the shop for engine repair.

I'm just a newbie but you don't mention what speed you like to run at. I've read flashers tend to be speed-tolerant and that some brands of spoons prefer different speed ranges. What's yours?

Ditto - I enjoy the play by play.

Welcome back. Fishing's been great...

What port did you fish out of?

Another popular work-around is to splice a section of 30# Big Game into your setup so that's what's in the water hitting the fleas. Search "Water fleas" for the details.

Look up the March 2010 topic TOP SPIN DOCTOR \FLY COMBOS for a few more choices.

Nice - thank you for the info.

I like it. Now she just needs to dump the boyfriend...

Nice fish. Much better than spending the morning at work like me.

that would be awfully handy on the picnic table. How much for kit vs. completed?

I stopped fishing Lake Ontario in the late eighties and just started again with a buddy on his boat this spring. We fished the Salmon River (drift boat) for the first time last October, went out for spring browns with Legacy (see his 4/30 report) and we're booked again in August. We've even managed to catch a few ourselves using what we've learned here, from Capt Rob & from Jolly II (sorry about all the dumb questions, Chris). You're absolutely right; the fishing has been amazing so far. I can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out.

we did well yesterday trolling east and then back in 160 feet of water, riggers @ 75 & 55 w fixed sliders. riggers, copper & dipsies all took a mix of fish with both spoons & flasher/flies. Hope it helps.
