  1. Dickey Nice Boat! I was the Black and Blue StarCraft Inside of you. I finished just after you at 9 for 14. Crazy bite. These all took their share. IMG_20200928_102454.thumb.jpeg.f052ff98ec089c70149ccdcab181adec.jpeg

Tank, I was telling my dad and cousin that I almost bought your same exact boat before wife told me to buy new one this year. I tried flasher/fly for a little while but switched over to all plugs. This was latest I have fished and gotta say it was a blast. Nice job out there. We had fun following you around.

  2. Took the day off of work and took my dad and cousin out. Fished 7-10:30. Went 4-6. All on J-plugs. 25-35 Fow. Riggers at 20 with 20’ leads. My dad and cousin each landed 2, I lost my 2 after some fun battles. Silver bullet took 5 and other was a north port nailer off the board. Beautiful day to take off of work. 3. Finally got my dad out for his 1st trip on the new boat. Big difference vs the one he bought in 84. Fished 100-200. Plenty of rigger releases but no takers. Wire with SD/fly starts screaming so my son hands the rod to my dad. Fish took it out to 500+. Took him a while to get it in but he battled the whole time. Great to be out with 3 generations. Took a friend and her daughter out to try and get them their 1st kings. Left the launch around 6:15 and was greeted by a pack of boats out front. With 2 rookies we headed west and away from the pack. 80 rigger with Flasher/fly fires. I grab the rod and hand it to the young lady. Told her to stay in the seat and I would coach her. Cleared the port side rods and her mom took the wheel. Fish went to 385 on LC and girl tells me biggest fish she has caught was a sun fish off the dock. I helped her with rod up and down but she reeled the entire time until fish hit the deck. She wanted it to live so we took a pic and let it fight another day. Managed 2 more releases on riggers and 1 hit on dipseys but no one home. Called it a day at 10am. Fished mostly 90-200 and away from the pack. Marked a lot of fish but.....IMG_4698.thumb.JPG.21697c789b46f29ae6ed4943e5a7726f.JPGIMG_4238.thumb.JPG.ef190981aab4e115b04bdc56dbd561ed.JPGIMG_4236.thumb.JPG.77d8853c434d7703daf672be8713a93a.JPGIMG_4701.JPGIMG_4702.JPG

  5. Hooks that bent or broke were ones that came with the Atomik flies. I tie my own fly harnesses now using addya hooks and haven’t had an issue yet. I am not saying anything bad about atomik, I just use my own harnesses now. The fish last night got unhooked and the hooks were still in great shape. He either did a great job getting loose or me slowing the boat down didn’t help to keep more tension on it.

  6. Took a brother from the fire service out from 4-8:15pm. Was choppy when we started but calmed down as night went on. Fished 95-120 whole time. 6 rod spread. 2 wire dipseys 210/220 and 2 riggers stacked. Had at least 6 knock offs on spoons off the riggers. Buddy finally got one hooked. NK mag on 83 rigger. Sorry for the crappy pic. He had trouble holding it and I wanted it back in water ASAP so I only took 1 pic. Little while later I had a screamer on the 210 wire. Fished jumped multiple times and took a few runs out to 550 on line counter. I slowed the kicker down to gain some line. Seemed like fish was starting to give up and all of a sudden line went limp. Thought he broke off. Reeled line in and fly was intact, treble and octopus were good and still sharp. I have had a few treble hooks break or bend on flies before. Maybe it was slowing the boat down the killed me or maybe it was karma for busting my buddies balls for taking forever to get his king in and not knowing how to hold it up. Had few more spoon releases on the riggers. Lost another one that took the flasher/fly off the deep rigger 95 and right into the wire. Didn’t loose any tackle and had some laughs. Marked fish and bait mostly 70-90 over 95-120. 2 other boats working the same area. Had 49 water 77 down. IMG_4670.JPGIMG_4671.JPGIMG_4672.JPGIMG_4673.JPG
