  1. I was the guy in the boat. Fisherman if that was you that got broken off (or whoever it was) I am truly sorry. We were trolling down along the pier to avoid the nonsense that was going on directly off the pier heads boat traffic wise. As soon as you guys yelled you were hooked up I turned out as soon as I could. I had no idea your fish had run that far out. Again I am sorry for causing you the trouble. Let me know what you lost in gear and I will replace it for you.

  6. Made the trip to Wilson on Sunday to try to find a derby fish. Got a bit of a late start but with a calm lake, made the run west toward the bar. Fished 180-200 fow near the drop most of the day and did well on kings and lakers. Had some issues keeping some kings hooked up but ended up landing and releasing 9 kings and 5 or 6 lakers. Lost 5 other kings (assuming they were kings by the runs they took) as well. All spoon bite other than one lost screamer and a laker on a SD/fly. No real standouts today spoon wise, but a slide diver out 250 and a 300 copper were the most consistent producers. In the end no derby fish (all kings between 12-18lbs) but another great day on the water other than the bugs that finally chased us off about 1pm.
  7. Got a chance to take my brother out Tuesday am. Headed straight out of the bay and set up in 40' heading east and it didn't take long to find what we were looking for. Before all the rods were set we were doubled up on kings. A pair of spring kings in a small boat with two people and a decent chop=excitement!! We landed them both and continued to work the same water for the rest of the morning til we got blown off around 11. Ended up with 13 bites and managed to land them all. 10 kings, 2 coho, and a laker. Watermelon and purple alewife Stingray spoons fished on slide divers were the hot ticket for us this am.

  13. The landfill in RIga will take it, as well as Alpco recycling in Macedon. Should cost you around $100 to dispose of it.
  14. We were greeted with a stiff NW wind in the AM and it made for a bit of a bumpy ride but we gave it a shot. Set up a 6 rod spread in 80 fow with a decent screen but couldn't get them to go. We trolled north without moving a rod until we were over 500 fow. We found some fish out there and would land 3 nice steelhead and two kings before my buddy had to be back to the dock by noon. 35' rigger took 3 of the fish with the other two coming in a 300 copper and a 10 color core. The fleas were brutal and were covering everything, lines, cables, releases, even the hooks on our spoons and flies were covered.
  15. I run a 10 color on a Daiwa Sealine 50 with 250 yards of 50lb power pro backing. It just fits.
  16. Rick, I've never run meat before, wanna give it a shot. Is there somewhere near the oak to pick up some Familiar Bite strips or do you have them shipped to you?
  17. My brother bailed on me at the last minute so I was solo all morning. Ran 2 divers and one cheated rigger. The divers did most of the work all morning pulling SD's and flies. Ended up boating 7 kings up to 18lbs and a 6lb laker. Also lost 4 others including what looked like a nice steelie going airborne behind the boat while fighting a king. Nothing I could do by myself, other than watch. 150-200 FOW seemed best all morning, down 60-90'. Erin met me after work and we were back on the water about 5:30. Set up in the same area as in the am headed NE and it didn't take long and we were back on them. Fished til sunset and boated 7 more kings from 10-17lbs, a 9lb steelie, and a laker. Again the divers were hot but a FF on a 300 copper also took two of the bigger fish. Green and white were the hot colors for us today. Great day to be on the water and some good fishing to boot!
  18. I should have been more specific. Looking for one with the full flotation style bracket. I believe they only built them for a few years...06/07 time frame. Like this one:
  19. Does anyone have, or know anyone who has, an Islander with the factory outboard bracket? I recently bought and Islander and am going to replace the I/O with a fabricated bracket and an outboard. I would like to find a boat with the factory bracket to take a look at and take some measurements. I would like to build mine as close to the factory specs as possible. If anyone knows of one around please let me know. Thanks!!!
  20. Fished 5:30 til dark. Ended up 9 for 11 with one decent king maybe 15lbs and one nice laker, otherwise it was all skippy kings. Mostly a spoon bite off the riggers but the bigger king took a e-chip paddle and hammer fly off a 300 copper. Most of the fish came down 35-60' over 140-150. TONS of bait out there! Lots of fish we just struggled to find the big boys but a beautiful night to be on the water!
