  1. I can get a price on shipping when I'm back home next week. You would have to pay all shipping costs. I don't mind boxing them up and shipping, you would just have to pay me through paypal I guess.
  2. Hi I have a pair of Invader short boom downriggers asking $150 for the pair. I got my first electrics so these can go. I'll try to get pics up later today. Both have about 200 feet of wire and are in good condition, both are dual rod holders. Bases are included (non swivel). Located in Canandaigua. I'm actually looking for flashers, so if you'd like to throw some in and less cash, or for the right amount of flashers an even trade could be a possibility.
  3. I have an Ameristep The Rock hang in stand that's brand new but I'll never use for sale. Let me know if you're interested.
  4. I've posted this a couple of times and now it's really time for it to go. Boat has been in my family since new, motor always maintained. 1978 Grady White 185 Challenger with a 1987 Evinrude 140. Oil injection, lower unit serviced last year with new water pump also. Fuel line and primer bulb new this year. Motor is very reliable! Transom solid, hull solid, gel coat is a bit chalky but it's an older boat. Interior is ok. One small soft spot in the floor. Trailer is a 1978 EZ Loader with new LED taillights and tires with only about 500 miles on them. Trailer is in very good shape. So that's it. Final price is $1250. Pictures aren't the best. Come get it!
  5. Thanks ifishy! I'm watching the posts and just want to get this right! I can't do the horsepower drop like you did, I have a 140hp outboard. I'm going to get a kicker bracket and a little 2 stroke and away we go!
  6. So I'm just getting started in setting up for fishing the fingerlakes and Lake O. I have several reels and rods that I want to set up, my thing is I have no idea where to start. The reels are Okuma 30's I believe, and they came with 8 foot downrigger rods. I'll take all the advice I can get. I'd like to be able to fish a few times this winter on Seneca to work on figuring out how to do the downriggers, and be ready to fish the trout in the spring. I also read a lot about you guys using planer boards, so treat me as the newbie to this that I am. I grew up fishing the Chesapeake Bay, and now live up here and am going crazy trying to figure it out on my own. I'm also going to have to put a kicker on my boat since my Evinrude is grumpy and hates to run at idle to troll, so some starting trolling speed ideas would be great. OK! I give. HELP!! Thanks!!
  7. Hey Keep'n it real. Any advice for a newbie that doesn't want to put the boat away, and is learning how to fish up here? I live in Canandaigua, but I'm just learning how to run downriggers and set the rods up. I grew up fishing the Chesapeake Bay, and have been kind of just making mistake after mistake trying to figure this fishery out.
  8. So I'm looking for a set of used downriggers and only have $200-$250 to spend. Looking for suggestions. I was given a set of short invaders as a gift but they are way too short for my rods. I'm still learning so any advice would be great! Of course I'd love electrics, but I'm also a realist. For this season that is!
  9. And of course the big question, how much? What kind of 18 footer? Mine is for sale.
  10. Almost every year I have a spiders nest in the outlet of my 140 Evinrude. Not uncommon. Clean the port you'll be fine.
  11. An 01 for that price is a steal if it runs well.
  12. My whole thing is to get out, learn how it's done. I can set the boat up, that's not a problem.
  13. I moved up here a few years ago and I really am struggling to learn to fish with down riggers and planer boards. Set ups, everything. Would anyone be willing to teach me, or recommend a charter that will take me out and teach? I'm not looking for a free day of fishing or a boat ride, I need to learn this and will gladly buck up, just need a teacher! I'm basically tired of looking at YouTube and want to do this right! Any suggestions would help! Thanks
