  1. For guys that are using saddles, what brand do you have and likes and dislikes? I'm looking to put my order in soon but there are a ton on the market now. Also, do you have the leaning or sitting style?
  2. I think I am going to try the saddle method myself next year, definitely to late this year. To being that mobile with virtually zero wait seems brainless to me. Have heard more good then bad about that kind of system.
  3. Finally got the right wind to be able to sit the ground blind looking over clover / chicory / turnip plot. Big deal for me because I'm finally able to get the guy who has helped me shed hunt, pick rocks in food plots, mow, trim trails, brush in blinds, check cameras, you name it hes all in. Super special because it's our first real hunt together and hes my 4 year old son! Hes deserves to be here just as much as I do and hes pumped!!
  4. Good luck if you are out! To hot for me.
  5. Well, with things just starting to get exciting..... cold mornings, October fast approaching, working in the woods, remembering why it is we do this,ect..... I was informed yesterday that there is a very high chance that the lease I have been on for the last 10 years is being sold due to the huge jump in taxes this year! Want to puke and cry.
  6. Yes, I have had a ton of success running them on my riggers. 50-60 back has been best for me.
  7. I too am considering going with a saddle for the simple point of being mobile quickly! Even if it's 10 yards. Definitely will not be this season but will be researching like crazy to decide.
  8. Yes they do, I have not gone that slow my self, but we did catch a good number of then while heading dead into the wind and we were at 1.5 to 1.7. I did consider bottum bouncing with them but never ended up trying. I would bet my paycheck that 1mph would still fill your live well!
  9. Yes the fishing has been really good! Pick up some Gambler Rig worm harnesses, they have been out fishing everything I have been putting in the water!
  10. To be honest, I haven't caught a single one in the last 2 trips. But we did catch 5 slob yellow perch on them while we were trolling for eyes!
  11. Headed back to Erie yesterday to give it another go. The lake was like a wash tub so being on your toes was a must! Took a little bit to really find them but once we did it was on! Gambler Rigs out fished everything else once again! The newest color Purple Haze and Gold Golbie were the MVP's!
  12. It is a must have! Also works as auto pilot when trolling and much much more. You will not be disappointed with it!
  13. Straight off the leader for them. I ran them on divers, lead core and riggers.
  14. I fished them at 2.1- 2.2 off the gps. Gold Goby, Silver Glow, and Green Monster did the most damage for us last weekend. Hopefully will be heading back in the morning. As where to get them...https://gamblerrigs.com/products/walleye-worm-harnesses. Just wait until you put a worm on these and watch them swim, Eye killers for sure!
  15. And also, if you could pick one rod what would it be? I know I'm asking a ton, but..... I want to be on the ball!
  16. I have spot lock so I'm good to go there. Are they at all line shy? Have read that it's better to use straight 20lb braid rather then mono, so you can feel the bite.
  17. Thank you for the info!
  18. I have looked there a number of times, and there is some good info, but there is not alot of posts be made.

    Perch rigs?

I'm extremely green to the perch game but I'm diving in! Want to fish Erie for perch in the very near future (possibly this weekend). Is it worth trying this time of year? When are the best times to target them? Also, what are the go to setups right down to hook color if that Truely matters for catching perch? I know it's kind of a complex questions but looking for whatever and as much info anyone is willing to share and all info is GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks.
