  1. I have... You will need a place that you could have enough parking or dock space to accommodate enough boats and trailers.. So I think Myers or South Seneca Sportsmen's Club would be the ticket for us.. I'm waiting to hear back from someone and then will make the decision..But I am open to any suggestions as well Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Would be kinda cool to get the trophy so we could give it to this year's winner if possible.. I think $25 is a good side bet per boat and that should get us enough to pay top 3 spots. . We have 8 boats so far saying they will fish on day 2 of this post so I think we will get in the neighborhood of 15 to 20 boats hopefully...So far I have the following Boats saying there in.. Iron Duke Stoneam2006 Kayslay Cinnamon fish Magill 270 Nautitroller Suttontroller94 58 Johnson Darkwater1 Sk8man Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Yes it would be nice but let's see how many boats we can get first... If we can get around 15 boats to fish I'm sure we could do a first second and third place prize.. I will probably also donate some flies to go to 4th and 5th too.. Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. October 15 th or the 22nd ??? The only problem I see is some may not want to due to bow season but I would be defiantly down for one of those weekends and give up a day of bow season for that.. Maybe we should start a new thread and see how much interest we have, we will call it the October Lou All Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Nice fish guys ... Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. So what you are saying is you want to have a gentleman's wager fishing tournament this fall on Cayuga ?? Hmmmm.. Maybe like the old Lou All?? Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Thanks John. And yes you had to have the presentation to those deep fish perfect or they wouldn't bite.. Fishing the currents and trolling direction are key on days like that.. A while ago I would have said not having a probe was not a big deal but probably is the most important weapon on our boat and I feel extremely blind when it's not in the water.. 8. Thanks Joe... None til next year on the tournaments on Cayuga as far as I know.. We were possibly talking about trying to work together with other tournaments so there are no schedule conflicts for Barney and Bears tournaments on Cayuga next year so that it would help them get a few more entries and possibly trying to figure out another weigh station in the northern part of the lake to help guys that launch out of Dean's Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  11. Launched out of the South Shore Marina bright and early... The plan was to run north first thing but due to an extremely thick and heavy fog we ended up idling pretty much up the lake until about three-quarters the way up before we set up shop running 3 lead cores, 3 coppers, 2 riggers, 1 dipsy and 2 rig rods.. Fishing was beyond slow for us at first. My go to spot which has been extremely kind to me through the years was dead and showed no signs of life on the lowrance so we went into search mode before locating some good pods of bait and fish on the west side.. We worked these fish doing circles for what seemed like hours and only put 2 small lake trout in the boat. Decided to go a bit further south on our next circle and had a 3 color takes of ripping pulling a Bellis Tackle Spoon, after a few good runs we get the fish close to the back of the boat and almost in net range and the port side Scotty fires and we are doubled up!! We get one big beautiful bow to the boat and a decent brown.. We then decided to move out to a little deeper water and focus on Lake trout and worked we did continously changing up spoons and flasher fly combos until I sent a yellow jeans flasher with a new Yellow UV fly I've been trying out to some of those big suspended deep arches and finally got a few to fire.. Ended up putting a decent 5 fish box together including a nice bonus walleye and headed to weigh in hoping for a top 5.. We got to weigh in and realized we weren't the only ones having a slow day and ended pulling off the win and retaining our points lead.. Two tournaments left to go this year and it's far from over yet... Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Okay that would be great but I totally understand if he's not willing to change just know that there probably would be some more entries for these tournaments which I know he was looking forward too, so hopefully if we could do a little bit of adjustment we could help get a few more entries In im sure.. I honestly won't know next year schedule till probably February when they decide but I will definitely get it to you as soon as I get one.. Thank you Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Wayne if I get you the FLTA schedule early next year could you try to get it to whoever schedules the B&B tournaments and see if we can work around them to try to get them on weekends that the FLTA is not fishing and I guarantee you there will be a lot more people that sign up for all these tournaments including myself I would love to fish all these tournaments but they always seem to fall on weekends that we have tournament scheduled for the FLTA.. 14. Congratulations!! That is a fish of a lifetime... There definitely is some quality fish in that Lake and a lot of bait which is helping them get even bigger.. Definitely a memory you hold on to for a long time again congrats!! Way to go!!Awesome job!! Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. I think the biggest thing here is that a lot of guys leave their drags extremely loose when you do this not only do you not get the greatest hook sets but you also allow the board to get easily pulled underneath the water because of all the slack line that can get I like to leave mine not tight not loose but right in between there's enough stretch in your mono leader so that the fish can't break you off and they will still be able to pull drag if they're a good fish.. I have run 300 coppers on TX 22 no problem since I have started running them.. I run 30 lb braid backing and I like to rap the braid backing around the clip once before putting it in so that the planer board cannot slide down or release.. When you do have a fish on you don't need to worry about fighting the fish until you get the board to the boat, the board will fight the fish for you until you get the board to the boat.. When the board starts to get close to the boat they will usually start doing their hopping and trying to dive what I have found is that once you get to that point if you point your Rod tip straight at the board low to the water the board will stay nice and flat the rest of the way to the boat and then you can release it and you will be mono e mono... hope this helps good luck you're still going to get big fish a couple times a year that rip your boards under the water whether you like it or not LOL it just happens try a few of those things and I guarantee you it will definitely help.. 17. There's some really nice fish in that lake and really looking forward to fishing there after labor day weekend, which I hope will slow down a bit of the pleasure boaters.. I always enjoy looking forward to Owasco and Canandaigua towards the end of the years because of the amazing off fishing...Here's hoping Mike Sent from my SM-N910V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
